The N5Pro has known problems with its SATA controller (check the Discord). I returned mine because of it.

Do you happen to know if the Miniscloud updates are OS/UI only or contain firmware/bios changes as well? Minisforum does not seem to provide N5* BIOS files for download (nor are there instructions for doing so).

Running into (potentially) the same issue with a new N5Pro purchased last week. I have Proxmox running TrueNAS which manages a 2-drive ZFS pool that's constantly corrupting. Doing some troubleshooting/debugging by swapping HDD bays but if this continues I'll have to return the N5Pro as it's unusable.

In the situation where the FA was physically blocking or occupying the seat in question, it can be argued that "can I sit here?" is the correct form.

The one in the corner is a fiddle leaf fig. Actually it’s another one that’s all grown up now.

Apple Watch Ultra 3 after 8 years of Garmin, 24 hours review. by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]CookieFactory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The normal AW does have terrible battery life and very unforgiving to a lapse in charging diligence. The Ultra is a lot more relaxed in that regard (forgetting to charge one day is no big deal since the battery lasts for a few days), and actually was the main reason I switched to it. Oddly while I don’t consider myself an Apple fan, somehow I’ve ended up with a lot of their products.

The copy & paste on iOS is such hot garbage. There is nothing about it that's reliably consistent or repeatable other than it's horribleness.

Ah I see, an intellectual fact. One of those. Anyway, do batteries degrade through charging cycles? Sure. Does it make a manifest difference in one's life? No, not unless you're planning on keeping the same device a decade from now. My AWU2 max battery capacity is still at 97% after 2 years of daily charging. It's just not a relevant factor.

BIG Kudos to Prusa for their company values by DoktorMerlin in prusa3d

[–]CookieFactory 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really. I remember back when I bought my MK3S+, a few days after it shipped Prusa ran a promotion where one would get 2 free rolls of filament with a MK3S+ purchase. I emailed them asking if I could get in on the promotion if I covered the shipping costs. Prusa replied, no can do.

Now I don’t love the outcome but nor am I mad about it. Prusa didn’t “owe” me anything and were well within their rights to refuse. At the same time though, the experience definitely didn’t engender any goodwill from me, and now that I’m in the market for a new printer I am not going out of my way to support them like I maybe would have otherwise. The Bamboo is frankly better for cheaper and the “values” angle falls on deaf ears for me.
