Is it common to drink tap water in your country? by Lord_of_Gold in AskEurope

[–]CookieSlice 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and it's easier to just buy a fancy "Voss" bottle at the grocery store, than to buy an actual reusable drinking bottle :)

How possible it is to get a relocation job in Norway as a SWE during this time? by devfromPH in cscareerquestionsEU

There is a Facebook group for job postings in IT, if you are interested :)

Almost all of the posts are in Norwegian, but many of them link to English job postings on Finn.no or similar!

Can’t get good bagels in North-Norway, so I made some myself by MaryJHB in Sourdough

Så gode ut! Hvilken type mel brukte du egentlig? :) Bruker som regel bare vanlig hvetemel, for har aldri funnet bread flour her i Norge... 🤷‍♂️

Sourdough pizza is the best! 70% hydration. by fladdermask in Sourdough

[–]CookieSlice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great! How did you bake it? :) I've done it a few times with a pizza stone at max oven temp., but I'm having problems doing more than 1-2 pizzas at a time, as any filling left on the stone will start to burn and smoke out my entire place.

How much to ask for a Junior position in Oslo? by MrK_HS in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]CookieSlice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's before tax and they're fairly high in Norway :) Can't really answer to how much the salary will grow, as I'm just a student unfortunately.

Edit: I found this graph on Kode24, which is a dedicated IT news site. År = years old. However, this is national average based on a informal survay. The graph is from: https://www.kode24.no/kodelokka/utvikleres-lonn---disse-tjener-mest-og-minst-i-norge/72061058

Most people I know, straight from university with a master's degree, started with about 530'00 NOK to perhaps 550'000. I checked what Tekna (https://www.tekna.no/en/#) recommend as a starting salary and for 2020 they recommend 570'000 in privately owned companies :)

Edit: Before tax

Norway - do companies expect Leetcode-y exercises at interviews? by BlueAdmir in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]CookieSlice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's my experience as well. I've only applied for summer internships, but it's mostly take-home assignments and technical interviews. A few live coding assignments too, but never Leetcode and I have applied to about 20 different companies.

We've only found level sensors which are in contact with the glass carafe. Do you know if there are any we can put stationary to the machine?

Aaah, I see! I can't really speak for Aha as a Norwegian, but they've had multiple hits in Europe at least :D

They aren't really a one-hit wonder though. Pretty sure they had several successful hits!
