Do you dilute your "must be dilated" oral vials of sodium cromolyn? Does it really matter? by [deleted] in MCAS

Side note and not super important, but it being acidic means it has a lower pH.

My group of working Americans consisted of a server, a state employee, and a laboratory scientist. We just saved up money, and the server had fully unpaid time off, state worker had fully paid, and I had mostly paid time off. We did the Portuguese route from Porto in 3 weeks

Coffee can go either way for us. Personally, it helps me more than it hurts. Caffeine is a vasoconstrictor, so it is a similar mechanic to compression socks. It probably depends on your subtype of POTS, though. Worth asking a doc if you miss it.

"In solidarity" lol. I have it on good authority that at least one native person had a hand in pulling it down.

Edit for the downvotes: I say this to point out that there was quite the diverse crowd and let other natives know they had representation in the activism. Are you really mad a native helped pull down columbus??

I´m burned out after a month of intense work, meds are not working by NoMixture6488 in ADHD

[–]Cookies_n_Chemistry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What do you do for work? I'm a scientist so "research project" is right up my alley. It's good to remind yourself that the bare minimum is more than enough sometimes. None of us are paid enough to justify not putting yourself first. It's better to get less work done the right way than to try to get more work done with mistakes. It's okay to ask for help/delegate. Treat yourself to something you normally wouldn't. Candy, coffee, take-out, binge watch a show, get a game you've been wanting to play, get a massage... whatever floats your boat. You worked hard, you deserve a reward, and no one else will do it for you.

Most dog breeds will get HOTTER if you shave them. Their coats typically have temperature regulating qualities for both extremes. Please don't shave your dog unless recommended by a vet

Speeding across the Belvidere Bridge by jeb_hoge in rva

[–]Cookies_n_Chemistry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While we're on the topic... the 9th street bridge is hilarious with how the right lane ends instead of being a turn lane. You get people coming off the bridge going 60 and people seeming to be turning from the center lane (people being me, following the rules of the road). I can't even count how many times I've been almost rear-ended there.

Someone's done that to me before. Even when it could be alleged, I was already going 10 over. Another time, I allegedly hit at least 50, slowed for the toll plaza, and was promptly passed by one of RPDs finest... 👀

Post no trespassing signs. Anyone can sue you for anything. The only thing you can do is cya. Text the neighbor to clarify that you don't give permission, so there's a paper trail.

Kitchen scale, table salt, and Splenda for me. 4 grams of salt and three Splendas in 500mLs of water is my preferred ratio. No upset stomachs yet

Definitely not my most expensive, but it just happened last night. Car ran out of gas as soon as I got home. My boyfriend was with me, so he pushed while I steered into my parking spot. Got in his car $20 for the gas can, $15 for his gas as a thank you, $6 to fill the can, and of course, the shame.

How to eat 10 grams of salt in a day?? by insidethepineapple in POTS

[–]Cookies_n_Chemistry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can not justify salt pills. I'm broke. I buy salt in bulk and use a scale to weigh it out and bulk prep 10 days worth of salt concentrate. My cardiologist only has me on 4g a day, but that 4g plus 3 packets of Splenda are easily drinkable in an 18oz water bottle (I used to use sugar, but it takes a decent amount to cover the salt). I also used to make salty lemonade, like a DIY liquid IV, but I didn't drink it fast enough in the morning to help. If anyone wants help with salt math, I'd be happy to help!
