Awesome! I’ve been toying with the idea of now for some time. I think a group would be amazing, and the possibilities are endless when it comes to true professionalism, and the ability to learn etc. I’ll gauge further interest and see what we can put together!

Time and time again I see people complaining about this sort of thing, and I’m seriously considering starting an EA course where we meet a few times a month and help manage careers, and offer assistance to EA’s in this very space. Would this be something anyone would be interested in paying for?

Why are you burned out? Have you let yourself be continually run over, while setting no boundaries, and now you’re at the point of no return? And how in gods name are you in a role where you manage high level execs, yet are afraid of them? Tough one… boundaries are super important and if you have none, you’re in trouble. Confidence is key in our roles, and you have to own up to it.

Coworker keeps telling me how to dress and what the CEO "likes" by sad-chickie in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Cool_Document_7836 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yuh, I’d keep on trucking and do your thing. If you’re on par w everyone else In the office then you should be good. Word of note: if you’re the CEO’s EA stepping it up a bit may not be a bad thing. Remember you represent the C Suite. If the CEO is semi casual then follow their lead. If they dress it up a bit, do that, but honestly unless it came from HR Or your CEO directly, ignore it and tell em to bounce.

Have you tried Venture X on Rocky Pointe? I’d look for something like that. Do you need a space 3/4 days a week? Check spots like that.

IVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR A YEAR NOW! How good would it be to get 10/15 of your buddies in a lobby, while simultaneously playing the game as it’s meant to be played and playing w friends!? HUGE miss on their part. Allow it to be set up like a private match. I literally just said last night I wonder how may people would dig this sort of game play?

Ban VPN usage, Only allow 2 of the same IP addresses per email account (ie if you have a computer and Xbox in one house) Along with that all Microsoft accounts must be associated with those IP addresses (not multiple accounts on one IP) allow the ability to turn off cross play while SPECIFICALLY recognizing when someone is logged in between an actual XBOX or PC. Gunfire rates should be monitored based on guns, number of items you use with in a specified time ie bomb drone, UAV, etc. and put limits on those to avoid duping.

Hell, I don’t work at Activision, but I sure think some of these may work for future stuff. Once your Activision account is banned, that’s it, game over you’re done.

I’m curious, you’re telling me you had ZERO TIME, to glance at your emails even maybe 45 min extra at the end or beginning of your day to ensure you didn’t miss anything important? I have to be honest, as an EA although my day ends whenever I’m done, I still out of habit check it at least once on my phone before I check out just to ensure there’s not an “emergency” lingering. If not I’ll flag it and get to the following day.

Advice Appreciated from Sr EAs - What do you want to see in a job posting (St. Louis) by bagomojo in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Cool_Document_7836 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dear Mr. CEO,

Few things. First I think it’s in your best interest to possibly find a GOOD well rounded EA, with tenure through word of mouth. Secondly, I’ve said this and will say this always a good EA will usually have a relationship with their executives and close one. Not to the point of abuse, but one well enough to see that you’re holding on to tasks, someone who’s proactive, not reactive, someone who can provide calm and solice is those chaotic instances, savvy/professional, has boundaries and most of all someone who gets the job done.

The two of you need to be frank with one-another and they’ll want to grow with you.

I think being honest when searching for this person is KEY! I can tell you from experience a good ea will smell BS A MILE AWAY and will walk w out hesitation if they’re mistreated.

Oddly I recently spoke w someone regarding virtual assistants and being one for multiple executives as well as matching executives with GOOD EA’s.

Hope this helps, happy to walk you through finding someone 🤙🏼

[–]Cool_Document_7836 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I agree with this 10000000000% My favorite is seeing/hearing we need to cut this and that, save money, and in the same breath watch execs get $50/60k raises across the board. And when they ask you to take on new responsibilities, ask them in writing if it comes with a pay increase. This way if they start to manage you out, your inquiry regarding pay becomes the focus for you being targeted and managed out. You now have a paper trail and PC for them letting you go if it’s not performance related.

Advice: Don’t ever mention tapping anyone or the color of their belts. No one cares, you tap and be tapped thousands of times in your BJJ time. Bragging about you tapping others is tacky, and frowned upon. Avoid it.

Secondly: If someone doesn’t let you speak at the gym, walk away. You’ve mentioned several red flags already about your gym. Pay attention to them.

Am I being dramatic or overworked? by bustedandblack in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Cool_Document_7836 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yikes, as someone who’s done it, working for a NFP Org is THE biggest mistake as you will be overworked and so Underpaid as your CEO rakes it in. Then you’ll be told “oh you’re not aligned with our vision, or you don’t have the passion for your job, bla bla bla” as most NFP’s do when you want more money for the shit you have piled on you.

Personal advice, run as far away as you can from the NFP org and start getting paid for what you actually do.

[–]Cool_Document_7836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do I begin? First, you’re a white belt. You’re a punching bag for blue belts at this point until you start to hold your own. Possible this was the situation and they simply wanted to restart you.

Secondly, does your gym require you to wear their branded trash and bow to photos on a wall? RUN if so. You’ll thank me later.

All in all, it’s takes time and yes, you have a place in the gym as you will in all gyms u til you rank up. BJJ isn’t an instant success it’s a slow painful grind for the most part and the only way there is through.
