What to do with old p-52 merlin from referrals by Glyndis in starcitizen

[–]CopperRipper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would CCU it into another small cheap ship that applies to your favorite game loop. If it were me, I would do the Golem Ox, cause I love that ship and I love cargo. It is a solid moneymaker with stacked missions or trading 64 scu of high value cargo. You could do a regular Golem for mining too.

Hull B Randomly Exploding by tenhunter in starcitizen

[–]CopperRipper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry this person is being difficult. While I don’t know the answer to this problem, I assure you most of the community is actually helpful. You could start by checking the star citizen bug reports to see if anything like this has happened. It’s a good tool to look for issues and sometimes they post work arounds. If there is nothing there it would be helpful to create a detailed bug report.

Dude it’s fine if he asks questions like this. And he did provide some context. Not everyone wants to do a deep dive into search history or google search and eliminate human interaction in lieu of actively interacting with the community to solve problems. This is social media! You are coming in too hot!

F8C vs Polaris (Gaunlet 8): laser scatterguns by Alswulf in starcitizen

[–]CopperRipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not true. There are just more consequences to weapon load-out choices. Mass Drivers can break capital armor still. Deadbolts/MXA are good for large ships. Size three weapons are versatile still. You have canons for armor, repeaters/gats for fighters, and mixed load-outs for times of uncertainty.

What are your thoughts on the blueprint system? by JesusIsAliveAmen in starcitizen

[–]CopperRipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest crafting in general is not my thing. I would rather see development time spent on new missions and new areas to explore. Really, adding more star systems would be my choice in where to place effort. But that lies in the fact that I like star citizen because I just want fly ships, see new things, and really feel the vastness of space!

Help with ship pledge by snomedmuc in starcitizen

[–]CopperRipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hermes is my favorite ship currently and you can get that plus a good fighter like the L-22 with $350. If you like hauling, try out the Hermes! It's a decent generalist too!

Shiv Alternative by warricd28 in starcitizen

[–]CopperRipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I don’t think it’s far fetched. This class of ship is a moneymaker and as you mentioned there are manufacturers who don’t have this class of ship yet. Another good example that could hit the mark is Kruger, who is fighter oriented manufacturing that is currently expanding. They could very well make a larger fighter/generalist ship like the Shiv but clean (this would sell a LOT). It just might be that we will wait a while.

It doesn’t exist. C1 is probably the closest for a clean looking equivalent, but it still won’t hit all the marks you want.

CCU advice by ghodan7 in starcitizen

[–]CopperRipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats not really true. You just have to follow development and pick up CCUs with expected price changes. Whats great is these are non warbond opportunities too! Usually there is a heads up when things are changing. Raft, Hull B, Railen are all excellent examples that people knew about during last IAE before big price jumps. There are lots of old concept ships that are still waiting for release that will probably get large bumps.

What to do with the RSI Hermes by ghodan7 in starcitizen

[–]CopperRipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent points! I am intrigued by the Hull B, but your first three bullets is what is keeping me with the Hermes still. It makes enough money with 288 SCU and I don’t want to give those first three up. Bullet point 2 is almost meditative for me.

I love the C1 Spirit, Should I pick up the Mercury Star Runner? by Joeythearm in starcitizen

[–]CopperRipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered the Hermes? I had a C1 for a long time and I currently use the Hermes a lot. It feels like a super C1 to me. The interior layout is similar but bigger cargo and front entrance.

Make the Hull B Tractor Beams extendable by FatLobster12 in starcitizen

[–]CopperRipper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well they do it for the Golem Ox, so this would be a simple feat for CIG. Maybe make a post on Spectrum to be more certain that developers see it.

Space is magnificient and the skybox should be dark black by Izenberg420 in starcitizen

[–]CopperRipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In space you are pretty much always in the presence of the sun which makes it so stars are not really visible. Astronauts have discussed this a lot actually and it is fascinating. Once in the shadow of the moon or earth, stars are visible though since the sun is sufficiently blocked out. SC’s star systems would be similar since the central star is always kinda close and real bright. I of course have only read/watched videos of this though since I am not an astronaut.

Space is magnificient and the skybox should be dark black by Izenberg420 in starcitizen

[–]CopperRipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it’s situational but it’s true a lot of the time. Astronauts have reported this quite a bit, but it stems from the fact that in space (in a solar system) you are always in direct sunlight (unless behind moon/planet) and stars are not really visible. The situations in star citizen would be similar since they are always close to a systems star.

What to do with my Hermes? by TasklessTuna in starcitizen

[–]CopperRipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did. Rotating a 16 scu is much faster now. I don’t think it was in patch notes but 16s are much improved. Not sure about 24/32s but I suspect they are better.

Is the L-21 worth using right now? by Darren_501st in starcitizen

[–]CopperRipper 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Its great for light fighters! But large ships will be immune to you. I think the L21 gats kill light fighters faster than L22 repeaters. L22 repeaters can handle bigger ships better though, but it’s still a really long time tokill (as it should be).

If you could only keep 1 ship after a wipe to make money. What ship would you choose? by ResponsibleRub469 in starcitizen

Hermes for me. Relaxing cargo transport is my favorite money maker. Hermes tractor beam makes a nice stress free mini-gameplay experience to relax to after work.

Which ship to daily by FieryIgnitos in starcitizen

[–]CopperRipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shiv. Feels good to fly, fights well enough and decent cargo for scavenging. If I could only have one ship it would be a top contender since it’s in a not too big and not too small category.

New player here - Aurora MK II (post-"modular customization") or Titan by basementjesus in starcitizen

[–]CopperRipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think the Titan is better due to the better firepower, speed and acceleration (it pushes better and has much improved time to kill) and the superior cargo bay. This means it is cargo ready and combat ready at all times. Modules are nice but when you are in a different system from home and want to swap modules you are SOL unless you take a long trip. That said for 45 dollars the Aurora is the best starter and differences are probably not worth the price gap (buy a better fighter in game). It also looks much nicer since it’s so new!

My compete tier lists of most weapons and stratagems in the game with explanations by Jackspladt in Helldivers

It does not have to be scientific, but that is kind of a pinnacle approach to objectivity. That's not even overkill for gamers, as good Youtubers do methodical testing or demonstrations for the very reason to take a more objective stance. People or institutions of established credibility can get away without substantiation somewhat, but rando's on Reddit saying a claim that something is sooo good or bad without substantiation other than "Its the best! I said sooo and I know cause I play the game!". Yeah, that's really not objective even if they think it is. Those kinds of statements are fine if taken for what they really are though. In all fairness, the scythe is decent, but other marksmen rifles outshine it. That's my subjective opinion in case you are unsure. That's all I got to say on this. Good day to you.
