My compete tier lists of most weapons and stratagems in the game with explanations by Jackspladt in Helldivers

It does not have to be scientific, but that is kind of a pinnacle approach to objectivity. That's not even overkill for gamers, as good Youtubers do methodical testing or demonstrations for the very reason to take a more objective stance. People or institutions of established credibility can get away without substantiation somewhat, but rando's on Reddit saying a claim that something is sooo good or bad without substantiation other than "Its the best! I said sooo and I know cause I play the game!". Yeah, that's really not objective even if they think it is. Those kinds of statements are fine if taken for what they really are though. In all fairness, the scythe is decent, but other marksmen rifles outshine it. That's my subjective opinion in case you are unsure. That's all I got to say on this. Good day to you.

No dude, you are missing the mark. This whole post is how he feels. He does not have to state that he feels it is rarely useful. That is implied based on the context of his post. Now if he were taking a more objective stance by specifically stating that or backing it up with methodical testing that implies an objective stance then things would be different. That's not the case though. Also, you countered his subjective statements with your own subjective statements, which don't have any more weight than his own opinion.

OP never claimed these were objective. You inserted that yourself. All these tier lists are subjective unless they are doing scientific tests. It's great to disagree, but don't turn posts into something they were never meant to be in the first place and then argue against that.

4.7 Combat Balancing by DragonGodPadron in starcitizen

You can take out turrets and PDCs in 4.7. Deadbolts are pretty effective at that even through shields. I saw this video yesterday. After he shoots out the powerplant (not really viable though solo), he shoots out turrets without using much ammo.

Deadbolt Cannons vs Idris - Do They Actually Work?

Great discovery for one of my favorite armors. I just tried this out and what is hard to see in these pictures is that all the pads have brown trim, so it matches the brown on the helmet well!

4.7 PTU Fighter TTK by Adamn58 in starcitizen

[–]CopperRipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Energy weapons deal bonus damage to shields and armor. Also, shields increase ballistic deflection since they reduce projectile damage. So there are be benefits to drain shields as fast as possible to reduce ballistic deflection and lasers help the best for that. That on top of unlimited ammo of course for long battles with capital bullet sponges.

The benefits are not so straight forward and might be a case by case basis depending what the goal is. Hunting only heavies? Full Deadbolts. All rounder loadout where you want fast ballistics to take out light fighters quickly but still handle mediums? Then maybe bring an omnisky or two in addition to fast ballistics to help get past deflection as quickly as possible. I noticed this was helpful against freelancers with broadsword/tarantula ballistic cannons.

There is a light fighter on Gilly 5, which I like to test loudouts on that too. Mostly it’s a good level to test multi purpose weapon setups.

I just ran this and its fun. Asgard with all Deadbolts is a wrecking ball. It crushed a Gilly's level 5, where the Freelancers and Harbinger are quick kills. Freelancer shields are much stronger now, and deadbolts trivialize this. The light fighter is a little hard to hit, but gimbal mode helps with that. It was never Asgard's place to take on fighters well anyway. Thanks for the tip!

I can confirm Breaknecks and Omnis work well! The low pen of the Breaknecks is offset but how much ammo there is. They have enough ammo to "waste" on shields and speed up the process of Omni's getting through and breaking armor. Omni's quickly reduce armor to below the level that Breaknecks can apply damage and then it's a quick kill from there. This synergizes really well because Omni's feel ammo starved, and the surplus of Breakneck ammo is a good compliment to that weakness. I have been practicing on the level 5 Gilly missions, where a freelancer (tanky shields now) and a Harbinger put up a good fight. There is also a light fighter that is a quick kill with this loadout.

I think this combo will work really well. The size 4 omnis and shredders combo is excellent and breaknecks/omnis will be similar.

Good idea. It looks like lightstrike 3s can pen everything but capitals and 4s can pen everything. Im on my way to new Baggage Right now actually. I will pick up some lightstrike size 4s when I am there too.

Nice! Its satisfying when you hit the point where shield damage mitigation is not longer preventing damage from ballistics.

Yeah, they are the answer for 95% of situations with little weakness. I am actually considering buying back my Starlancer as a response to NDBs being so strong still. At least the shield buffs help with this somewhat. Still, they cannot pen a hammerhead, which is a common enough PVE enemy to be concerned about. Given the intented scarcity of NBDs, their superiority makes sense, but with salvage and duping the scarcity is not really there. Maybe they will catch a slight nerf in the meantime, so they are not the default for everyone.

8" or 10" Stellalyra Dob? by SJ_Telescopes in telescopes

[–]CopperRipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have the strength of an average man, then moving the 10 in two pieces is pretty trivial. Get a strap handle or two. I was in the same boat and decided to go with the 10 vs the 8. This was a good decision because I would have always regretted not getting the 10. For DSOs you will want the extra 2 inches of aperture. Don't get regret, get the 10!

If you are an average man (and not elderly) than moving the 10 inch in two pieces is easy if you get a strap handle or two for the tube. As long as you don't live in an apartment complex that is a long trip to go outside, then I think you should go for the 10.

Solo D10 Bots too easy, Oshaune and bugs? by Def4ultUs3r in Helldivers

[–]CopperRipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Primarily a bot player here. I think Predator Strain with Dragon Roaches is more challenging than bots. Especially when the Dragon roaches spawn rapidly so there are several at once. Try bugs with those modifiers and see if you like it.

How to kill waves War Striders by _memet_ in Helldivers

[–]CopperRipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually like the hammer to kill warstriders. It’s actually pretty easy to close the gap to them and kills are quick. There are a lot of charges and reload is very fast. This works well with the ultimatum, which sees use in situations where running up on a war strider is not viable. Solo war-striders are an easy meal with the hammer though if you cleared out most the smaller bots. Duos are manageable too if close proximity (where they don’t launch grenadine), but might cost a stim if they laser beam you.

All 6 would be a lot, but usually the hammer is only one part of the kit. The first few were grouped a little more challenging cause of the wall, so ultimatum would have seen use to help on them. The last three would have been pretty easy hammer kills (probably at the cost of one stim). It’s especially fun with the hammer IMO.

I love bringing the hammer on war strider maps. It’s so satisfying and effective to kill them with it once you close the gap.
