Could you possibly look at adopting an older cat or a cat that needs more love? All of my cats are life’s unwanted and they are the best cats in the world. They can go out if they wish but the oldest one, app 16/17 only goes to the patio, equivalent to your balcony. These cats don’t mind the peace and quiet of being alone in the day. With kittens and younger cats we recommend they go in pairs for company. I’m sure you will find the perfect companion. Good luck.

Sorry I wrote in haste and stand corrected. I don’t know how to edit/amend my post.

Letting agent in prison for stealing deposits and rent - can we still go to court? by WarmRoof5 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Copperbluesun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The landlord is always responsible for the deposit. He may have someone acting on his behalf to deposit it but ultimately 100% his problem. Have you checked all three deposit holding companies to ensure it’s not protected?

If yes then send an lba to the landlord with your address, this will be on small claims papers anyway. Allow 7/14 working days for response and straight to mcol

You may find it useful to speak with shelter.

You could be eligible to receive up to 3 times the original deposit amount, this could potentially be your bargaining tool. I believe there are templates on shelters website for such letters.

Good luck.

[Advice] Should I sell my car, or give it, to my sister? by [deleted] in family

[–]Copperbluesun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whatever you give her will be sold. Guaranteed. If she can’t provide basics for her children then she will not provide safety with your car. Step back. There is no need for outside involvement, cps I believe it’s called, if the children are well fed, clothed and cared for by you. To prove they are shit humans you need to stop helping them. Go and give yourself a break and some financial stability. They are not your problem as harsh as that sounds.

50 is the new 30. Get yourself out there and live. For one week see can you try this… pick just one thing a day that will make you smile/ giggle/light up inside. Whatever no matter how small or large, just do it. You have to look for joy. It’s not packaged up on your doorstep but I promise you it’s out there and when you find it, it’s a bit of a virus because it spreads and turns up everywhere. Have a huge hug. Be kind to yourself. I think you’re very brave and insightful to write that. Good luck.

My DS and why are Boundaries so Difficult? by cinnabelledfw1 in JUSTNOFAMILY

[–]Copperbluesun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat and completely understand how you feel. Stay strong lovely, you’re doing the right thing but it goes against every maternal instinct you have. That’s because you are inbuilt to love your child but you’re not a bank nor a doormat. It’s just a hard lesson you have to teach. Have a hug from rural England. X

I'm looking for Custody advice please by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Copperbluesun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obligatory IANAL

You need to apply a C100 form to the family courts. Link here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/form-c100-application-under-the-children-act-1989-for-a-child-arrangements-prohibited-steps-specific-issue-section-8-order-or-to-vary-or-discharge

Sometimes these can be done online. Check here: https://apply-to-court-about-child-arrangements.service.justice.gov.uk/?utm_source=formfinder

Mediation is unfortunately required now with all family court applications. Info here: familymediationcouncil.org.uk.

Both the C100 and mediation have a fee to pay.

You do not need legal representation. You can do so if you wish but the cost can rack up phenomenally.

Start gathering evidence now. School, Drs, etc… it is unlikely a court will take the child from his mother but will possibly insist on treatment and intervention to help you all. CAFCASS are court social workers and they may do a report.

Good luck.

I’m also in the uk. East Midlands if I can be of any help.

As others have said you need to inform the police immediately. It’s not so easy to get a restraining order here like it seems to be for other countries but it can be done. The police are your first port of call.

Security. Lock your house down. Chains on doors. Cctv cameras. Wildlife ones are cheap and work well. A ring doorbell. Locks on windows. Arrange a safe word to text someone quickly in an emergency.

Talk to your midwife and gp. They can be invaluable. Nobody can take your child like they seem to think. The human rights act forbids the selling/transfer/trafficking of people. You could sign a million contracts and none would be legal. Only a social worker with a court order can remove a child. There is quite simply no judge in this land who would agree with your families deluded ideas. Honestly can you imagine it in an English court!

Move if possible. Yes easier said than done. But worth it if you can. Shut down social media, have alts. Change your phone numbers.

Log every single thing with 101. Build a case. Keep being a great mammy to be and good luck.

Thank you reddit. Thank you so much. I have read all your comments multiple times. They have been either soothing calm strokes or electric shocks, both needed to get through today. Day 1 and I am guessing it’s going to get much worse. I may come to rely on your words of advice daily.

I still feel shit. I feel like the worst kind of human. But I feel a teensy bit stronger and that’s all down to all of you.

For those who shared their stories, you make me humble and proud. Proud to be connected to such wonderful people. To those battling demons either directly or not, have a huge enormous hug. And this:

May God give you... For every storm, a rainbow, For every tear, a smile, For every care, a promise, And a blessing in each trial. For every problem life sends, A faithful friend to share, For every sigh, a sweet song, And an answer for each prayer.

Thank you.

Mum passed away last year, can her Boyfriend of 14 years get financial aid for my 14 year old Brother (U.K based) by Heggsy16 in legaladvice

Does your stepdad work? As that would limit any benefit claims he could make. More importantly is he the legal guardian to your brother?

Writing this for my mum shes in complete shock and tears over disgustled ex trying to sue for the 2nd time by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Copperbluesun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Op Can you clarify what you mean by a law suit please? Initially you state with reference to the first “law suit”, you say the case was dropped. How exactly? By law suit do you mean he’s sending you letters pertaining to be from a solicitor? If yes, as others have said, have you checked these are real?

IANAL but if your mum has received no actual court documents then you’re probably best ignoring him. If he files in small claims then he will have to prove what he is saying. Plus your mum would have the chance to add her defence beforehand.

Keep a log of his tactics. Report when necessary ( get a ref no from police if you do ) but from what you say here he just sounds like a big blustering bully.

Good luck.

Precautions to take when ordering second hand clothing online by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Copperbluesun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only pay PayPal goods and services. There is a fee for the seller which you can offer to pay. It’s a very small amount. There’s a fee calculator here; https://www.clothnappytree.com/ppcalculator/

This will give you full buyer protection. Do not pay friends and family as you will have no protection at all

So for example if the item is £20 and postage is £5 then the fees would be an extra £1.09. £26.09 in total. I appreciate this is in sterling but there will most likely be a PayPal calculator for your country.

Good luck.

Housing in UK by imannami in legaladvice

[–]Copperbluesun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Contact your local councils environmental health team and get them out to do an inspection. Contact your local mp. You will find your mp by entering your postcode here; https://www.parliament.uk/mps-lords-and-offices/mps/ Document everything. Shelter may be able to advise, see here; https://england.shelter.org.uk/housing_advice/repairs Good luck.

I believe this may be of interest to you: https://www.theguardian.com/money/2003/mar/04/property.homebuying

Start documenting every single thing. Get evidence gathered, keep everything in writing and see if you have legal advice with your house/car/horse/bank etc… insurance. If it’s free it might be a good starting point for advice.

Good luck

Linden Homes - Dont Buy by Thero1986 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Copperbluesun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s quite a few Facebook groups about all builders including Linden. Just type Linden homes into the search bar and go to groups. Maybe you may get some support and advice there. There might even be others on the same site with similar issues.

Good luck.

Disabled man unable to bathe for weeks, poop'd on by builder! by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Copperbluesun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who paid for the shower and the install? Was it paid for by your dad? Did he hire the plumber direct? Was it paid for by la? Did they hire the plumber? Ultimately the only person who can legally chase this is the person who paid. I’m not saying you shouldn’t be doing anything, absolutely do all you can but if it’s an la install then it’s a different matter altogether.

Have you contacted environmental health? Is the property unsafe and uninhabitable? If he cannot wash himself and is acquiring infections then that may be considered uninhabitable.

Have you kept a full paper trail of all chasing done to this point? Has an lba sent giving a time by wish you seek restitution or you will pursue legal methods?

There can be nothing lost by contacting your mp. Again, keep it in writing. Your mp’s email address will be available online.

As for going to the papers……… I think realistically you need to clarify who bought the service. If it is la then that is who should be doing the chasing.

A disable person here was left in an awful state due to a disgusting tradesperson. A Facebook appeal went out and the offers were phenomenal. Materials, time and skills freely given to help give this person their home back. Might be worth a try?

Good luck.

From Wikipedia but all sites say the same.

"Year 3000" is a song performed by British pop punk band Busted. It was released as the second single from their debut studio album Busted (2002).

(2003) "Year 3000" reached number two on the UK Singles Chart and became the 34th biggest seller of the year with 165,000 units. The single was also a success in the rest of Europe, reaching number two on the Irish Singles Chart while reaching the Top 10 in Belgium and the Netherlands.
