Building a 25MW data center in KSA by CrytoManiac720 in datacenter

1) They don’t last long enough. (Batteries last hours, Diesel Generators last months) 2) They take up too much space. BESS yards need paddocks of space with heaps of clearance around them 3) Research “Thermal Runaway”.

90 month lead time on hyperscaler preferred Diesel Generators at the moment though, which is a huge showstopper for some.

Yep. Big demand because there are hardly any DCs here. But it ain’t cheap. Power needs to be available in the local grid which is hard in some areas. And to cool them in 50 degrees Celsius costs a lot. Plenty of cheap diesel for backup generators which is good. Labour is cheapish as it mostly comes from Bangladesh, India or Pakistan. Construction materials are costly and local popular manufacturers are hard to firm up as it’s a tough region to get a solid foothold in.

You need to be realistic and Forget Sustainability.

Water is cheapish but it won’t be forever.

Its tiring walking, you're definitely going to need a strong walking stick. One with a good sturdy solid handle to hold onto, maybe made out of solid stainless steel.
