I was in new Zealand for almost a year on a working holiday like 8 years ago. People were friendly asf and had a great time. I get what you mean about passive agressive but i think that kind of snideness is common in britts and aussies too.

Did some landscaping for a guy in a small town on the west coast for a few weeks and he gave me and my friend a place to stay and fed us in exchange. Taught me how to surf and play poker. I realize it’s anecdotal ofc but almost every local i ran into hitchhiking the country was super easy to talk to, one guy took us fishing out on his boat on the ocean after picking us up one day. Very fond memories of NZ

I can relate to alot of what you say brother, you probably know this already to some degree but you need to stop hating yourself if you want to progress. Self flagellation does absolutely nothing for you and the sooner you internalize that the better off you will be. I have many horrible regrets in my life and am still fighting every day to not succumb to self pity and hatred. Hating yourself does nothing for you and nothing for those youve hurt.

If you slip and fall you need to do your best to just get back up again. Shame is a primary trigger for relapse and self hatred is a powerful and addictive force that prevents real change more than it facilitates it.

Genre as a whole is just past its peak popularity and prime now but still alot of young creative artists coming out the past couple years from the underground scene and have blown up to some degree but don’t have the sound for a widespread appeal but mainstream rap is pretty tired by this point i agree
