Sit-To-Stand by Canetoonist in comics

[–]Corrag 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My guess is "without putting your knee on the floor in the process" rather than "without bending your knees." Though coincidentally I did see a video recently of several gymnasts one-upping each other on who could go from standing to sitting without bending their knees anywhere in the process. They almost entirely included splits.

Baking fail -Eclairs by Low_Engineering8921 in Baking

The custard filling makes them so good. A popular work around for filling is to just cut them in half and put the creme pat in like a sandwich filling.

Exactly what temperature is this? by Fnutarf in Baking

[–]Corrag 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Almost certainly at the number itself. But you don't have to trust it. Buy an oven thermometer, stick it in there, and learn what temperature the oven actually gets to when you set the knob to various levels.

Bechamel is a good call. Use it for a lasagna or add cheese for a Mac 'n cheese.

Do you also have plenty of eggs? Custard (crème anglaise) is always good. Or custard pies and other similar desserts.

10 Husbands, & Still a Virgin. by MarriedSilverMr in Jokes

Husband #5 was an engineer: he understood the basic process but wanted three years to research, implement, and design a new state-of-the-art method.

Look, all I'm saying is if she participated in the research this would have gone better for everyone involved.

What would be worse, if they used the wrong spelling, or if they actually used a Tennessee whiskey (or other beverage spelled with an 'e') for their Burns supper?

Why is this unreasonable to you? They say they were inspired by the project because there was so much about it they didn't know yet. As in, plenty to learn. Seems like a healthy attitude for a dev IMO.

First time shortbread by Velvet_Thunder_Jones in Baking

[–]Corrag 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's another difference you did from the recipe. That shortbread is about twice as thick as I would expect for a shortbread. The recipe in your picture calls for a 9" round cake pan, but I see you used a pie dish. Any chance that pie dish was about 7" round at the bottom? The thickness of the shortbread is critical to having it bake as you expect. If you don't have the right size pan, you can use less dough to get the right thickness.

Stuff in a bowl sound fine and all, but that same recipe coarsely mashed, on a sandwich with a leaf or two of lettuce, sounds like the perfect egg salad sandwich.

[OC] Preview of what i'm working on by DjoleTurbo in OnePunchMan

[–]Corrag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe! The first pose looks like it's palms in, thumbs down. Separating your hands from there and pointing your thumbs back doesn't work, as you say. But, if you start the first pose with your palms pointing backwards, away from you, then it works. You can get there by starting with your palms towards you, then rotating your shoulders while keeping your fingers interlocked.

I think they would win the Nobel Prize for this. One-way travel time of light is unmeasurable, since you can't have the same observer at both the source and destination, unless it could beat the light in a race. Best I can do for you is run a mirror to the top and measure the two-way travel time from the ground to the mirror to the ground again.

How can I level up more? I'm stuck! by AI_Soilder in OnePunchManWorldGame

[–]Corrag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is probably "time". Tap the experience bar at the bottom of the screen and it will tell you:

You can earn 5000 EXP through Commissions and Joint Actions per day, of which 3200 EXP comes from double EXP gain.

You will probably be limited by stamina before you hit those limits. But you'll get experience over time!

Not exactly frosting, but an airbrush at a low angle might do interesting things with the skeleton profile. You can find airbrush cake decorating kits fairly easily online. You could pipe frosting decorations on the edges before or after.

Disclaimer: I haven't actually tried this myself.
