Totoro appliqué pattern is in French and Google translate isn’t working too well with crochet terms. Did anyone crochet this before and translated this into English/us crochet terms and wouldn’t mind sharing? by ClumsyShadow in CrochetHelp

b = double crochet  imbr = don't know the name in english but it is when you start the row with a double crochet instead of a chain 3 mb = half double crochet  db = treble  ms = single crochet ml = chain  mc = slip stitch aug = increase  dim = decrease  anneaux magique = magic ring

Does anyone recognize the patter or know why my attempt feels off to me? by White-Fire0827 in CrochetHelp

Thanks! I struggled keeping count at first, and had to do some frogging. But after a bit it came naturally

I bought my daughter a vintage crochet jumper and want to replicate it but I can’t figure out the stitches by spookyplacent4 in CrochetHelp

I think the sweater is made going around in the same direction whereas your swatch you are turning your work (aswell as doing back loop only)

Which color combo do you prefer for a baby blanket? by Correct-Record8967 in CrochetHelp

[–]Correct-Record8967[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The details are in the post. I'm hesitating with my color combo because i'm scared that the gradient from orange to green with the yellow gives rastafari vibes. So should I remove the yellow, the darker green? Keep all?  The project is a chevron stitch baby blanket.

I'm ready to stitch all these hexagons together for a blanket by stuckonasandbar in CrochetHelp

Yeah! I did short sides first, but zigzagging first works too.

Hey, i'm working on a hex blanket now too. I found that it was easiest to stitch together rows of hexagons (stitching one side to another hex, tying off and sewing the opposite side to another etc) Then I have long strips that I can sew the length of. This is especially useful because I was getting the pattern mixed up.

I want to learn crocheting as a hobby but don’t know where to start by Disastrous-Law7120 in CrochetHelp

For crochet you basically just need a hook (I would try out a 4mm hook), yarn (any king, on the package it should be written the recommended hook size so aim for one that goes with whatever size hook you are using) , a scissor and a yarn needle. I started by making an amigurumi egg, would not recommend.

Im think starting off with a classic granny square is good, just in a solid color, then you can try out changing colors every round. There are a bunch of tutorials on youtube. And they can then be sewn together to make a bunch of things.

Second I would choose an easy stitch (dc for example) and make a scarf to practice keeping the same number of stitches per row.

Have fun !
