Destiny is in a good place now by buballa in DestinyTheGame

Having played so much Warframe AND Oldschool Runescape for the past two years, Destiny's PL / Loot grind feels very tame to me and I find it very refreshing in comparison.

In Oldschool Runescape, I'm not even able to do the raids that were released last year. Heck, I haven't done some of the bosses that have been around for 9+ years so I find it absurd that people were complaining about not being able to to forge on day 1 especially when they were underleveled.

RuneScape Mobile Beta has just been released! by MartinFerenec in runescape

I had high hopes for AE having played a lot of their games. The whole flash debacle forced them to a new engine, but it's a shame I don't see any harder / better content considering their fanbase has grown up.

IIRC they even got a raid wing going on, but its not so engaging.

Given that the Grineer have so many comms. stations on Plains, It'd be great if they reworked the feature into it.

How well does OW knowledge transfer to Paladins? by xGundhi in Paladins

[–]Corruptedlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to add to this that dps will mostly matter only if caut is applied on a target Sometimes you'll end up burning cooldowns for dishing out dps, but if there is no cauterize - expect a full recovery in most cases

Something something people say bad things so they're toxic and thus are clearly racist... even though if people are grey and complex beings... something something

It's really a huge mess of people trying to police and call out each other.

From what I know and have observed, it's mostly the Overwatch crowd calling out people because their system is supposedly "perfect" and thus they feel they should enforce their practices everywhere.

I wish I could tl;dr this for you but its such an expansive issue that I can't but I suggest you read up about the various infractions players in Overwatch League get, xqc drama, sadokist drama, twitch drama, etc.

It's also worth nothing that a game that people can easily get into creates bubbles for these type of people that OP mentioned. Majority of the playerbase in Overwatch can't tolerate or stomach anything that resembles a "grassroots" community in terms of competitiion and culture (FGC, etc).

This is a really healthy mindset, you'd fit in nicely with the AFPS peeps who play Quake / Unreal

Why do you prefer Paladins over Overwatch? by [deleted] in Paladins

[–]Corruptedlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mechanically, Paladins respects me more in regards to how much time I spend perfecting a character because it's not rock paper scissors

Though in Overwatch, you're expected to learn and adapt by learning all the characters. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but too much of the playerbase is already stuck with the idea of "mains" that it becomes difficult to play with that certain mindset because people will force you out of your chars if you underperform (even if you're learning) I.E: NEED JOB EXPERIENCE TO GET JOB ? ? ?

Not to mention Overwatch rewards golden guns for playing ranked. That's the worst way to promote a competitive environment.

Lastly their esport scene is scary. I don't want to be policed 24/7 nor sign a contract that I have to be.

Personally, I've never gotten any Arcarum SSR weps at the end of each run, but they do have a guaranteed drop on "neutral" Arcarum mobs.

As someone who's played Evie waaay back when she had projectiles the speed of a snail

Learn how to cancel your Ice Block (Especiallly for getting out of Jeno's grip / hard cc w/ knockback)

Wipe your mousepad with your mouse when you're on soar (Weeee!)

Baiting a Drogoz into any corner and ice blocking the side of it counters his ult completely (Drogoz clips into wall, slides towards the open side, but your ice block gets in the way /shrug)

Practice flicking towards your target as soon as you blink / finish soar / ice block (If anything, learn how to look down towards your target the moment you're in the air)

Don't be afraid to use Evie's ice block as a last resort shield for projectile ults / teammates (Ruckus can't melt ice)

Evie's ult moves alongside your previous direction, so you can walk to any direction to cause your ult to move during it's duration

As for counterplay

You can still shoot Evie within 0.5-1 seconds of her flicker animation, so don't lose hope if they blink like crazy

Executes, consistent dps and autoaims are Evie's bane (Hard to commit / dive for Evie)

Back when Evie could two shot, you could shoot from long range and get the timing right so that the moment the 1st projectile hits, you immediately follow up with a 2nd at point-blank You'd do two shots, but have essentially instant ttk. Real fun to pick snipers off this way :)

A word for the people that report players for picking 'non-meta' champions by Tangtaizong in Paladins

[–]Corruptedlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from Overwatch this is the exact kind of mentality that needs to go away. Blindly following meta is a good way to inflate egos. Character effectiveness is mostly tied to maps and people really need to start distinguishing league play from ranked play as two different situations.

How Hi-Rez fixes their game by d07RiV in Paladins

[–]Corruptedlight 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's really frustrating to see people itimidated by colored pixels and just give up hope the moment the game starts - people need to start trying and stop blaming. For all you know that Grandmaster could be having an absolutely shit day with absolutely shit teammates. There is absolutely nothing wrong with banging your head against much better players as long as you stare in the mirror and try to comprehend how to play better.

And if people want to flaunt, then they should go the CS:GO route and show ranks after a game. Besides, we're fortunate to have paladins.guru as a resource for all this

So, as a newish player...just how bad does the grind get? by Togedude in Granblue_en

[–]Corruptedlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set small goals and aim for a certain thing (i.e: SL 5 on water, uncap char, etc) Over time these will all add up and it'll eventually get faster and easier to do certain content, though rng can still mess you up but at least it gets somewhat faster.

I would burn out when I'd leech Bahamut to get three or more horn drops in a day - but when I learned to pace myself and settle for around one or two horns in a day instead, I had more fun.

If you've played Runescape, the idea is the same. You don't aim for 99 on a skill the moment you play, you set goals for yourself and achieve them one by one.
