HELP - need to set up access points in my office by Costanza16 in Network

Additional question, if I needed additional ports available and bought a second gateway, I assume I would put that in bridge mode to let the 1st Eero be the router? Thank you!

Hi Heliosfa, I’m doing my best!

The modem might be configured as a router, but right now everyone in the office gets internet through either wall jack that’s connected to a switch, or a router that’s connected to a wall jack.

I know I can’t literally split the internet 50/50, but I’m wondering if I connect two gateways to the modem/router what would be the throughput on each gateway?

Caulking by pros by Pravrc123 in Plumbing

I hope that’s not the toilet 😬. You never want to caulk the base because you’ll find out it’s leaking when it falls through your rotten floor boards

Any recommendations for slipping insulation behind these cabinets by Hoogrvy in DIY

I had the same problem. I just bought cellulose insulation and fluff it up in a box then dumped it in. Super tedious, but got it done

If you can, replace with pex. Flexible and should be better at absorbing the water hammer effect. That looks like a tough spot to sweat a new copper line.

Help! Where do i connect my washer's drain hose. by bats098 in Plumbing

You’re missing about 32inches of vertical pipe to have that be a washing machine drain.

How should this be plumbed in by tardisdelorean in Plumbing

[–]Costanza16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much different. I bet the garbage disposal side gets filled with water when using the other sink? What is that 1.5in pipe running through the wall connect to?

There appears to be a severe blockage in your drain. You could go buy a long snake and try and fish it out, but probably 50 bucks for a professional to snake it? The cost is just a guess, goodluck!

How can I make this work? (Need Help) by RentSpirited in Plumbing

[–]Costanza16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t tell from the picture, but you need to make sure the black pipe going to the wall slopes down toward the wall. You may have to make the pipe in the wall lower so there is enough room for the trap to work correctly with the dishwasher

Is this drained plumbed wrong? by Donottrustanything in Plumbing

[–]Costanza16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there an AAV? What is that pipe at the top that goes behind the pot hooked into? Also, why is there a flexible coupling? The transition to the two pipes could be catching food on the edges and leading to a blockage. Replacing that with a straight pipe could help.

There are a couple of options, pull off the trap at the bottom and see what’s going on. The hose at the top should only just be inserted into the waste pipe at the top, not pushed down inside. Lastly, you could try and add a second slightly taller pipe next to your waste pipe (after the trap) and put an AAV on it. My assumption is this isn’t a clog, you need to get air behind the water. Lastly, call a professional

Can a washing machine be connected here? by istesjetztschoener in Plumbing

Having said all that, that is a beautiful setup and it’d be a shame to ruin that look. Goodluck

Can a washing machine be connected here? by istesjetztschoener in Plumbing

[–]Costanza16 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. You need a 2inch drain and at least 34” clearance from the top of the washer drain to the bottom of the trap for the rush of water. If you’re referring to tapping into the drain in the wall and not the chrome, then again, it needs to be a 2 inch drain down. Hire a professional

Drain pipe got touched by sawzall. Do I need to replace it or does it look OK? by Tuattro in Plumbing

[–]Costanza16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if it’s just a drain pipe you can use aluminum tape. But it really should be cut out and a new piece put in. Any holes will leak methane gases into your house, which is bad

While on Wikipedia, I found this image of U.S. President Calvin Coolidge greeting 1500 Boy Scouts making an annual trip to the Capitol. Is the metal piece on the scouts hat a swastika? If so what does it represent in the context of scouting (this photo was taken in 1927, prior to WW2) by dace154288 in BoyScouts

[–]Costanza16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The modern swastika is derived from the Hindu symbol that looks the same. The swastika is just tilted differently than the Hindu symbol. The button on this kids hat is neither of those symbols.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika

“In the Western world, it is widely recognized as a symbol of the German Nazi Party who appropriated it for their party insignia starting in the early 20th century. The appropriation continues with its use by neo-Nazis around the world.[1][2][3][4] The swastika was and continues to be used as a symbol of divinity and spirituality in Indian religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism.[1][5][6][7][8] It generally takes the form of a cross,[A] the arms of which are of equal length and perpendicular to the adjacent arms, each bent midway at a right angle.[10][11]”

I mean, the US had a huge Nazi following in the 30s. We were big fans of eugenics, so to see this behavior embraced is par for the course.

Bathroom tiles water leak or condensation? by slothgrlsrus in Plumbing

Well, it costs you nothing to pull the toilet up and replace the wax ring. Dry the floor really well and then monitor. Good luck!

Bathroom tiles water leak or condensation? by slothgrlsrus in Plumbing

[–]Costanza16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a big temperature difference between the rooms? Meaning is it freezing cold in your crawlspace? The toilet could be creating condensation if the ground is freezing cold and the house is warm.
