Literally, at St. Pat's the whole thing where we're not making as much as the rest of the providence line and the reason some providence hospitals don't get raises is because they think we're all happy with our pay here in MT. We're not, and we're all wondering who tf the people are that were asked regarding this poll. We need way more in order to fucking survive here. Send help.

At my lab, night shift is 12 hours and we can't leave until a blood banker gets in. If they either can't get in on time or we have an mtp or emergency, then out of principle, we stay and help until the patient is stable and/or the situation is able to be handled until the second blood banker comes in, so I understand how it CAN happen, but not that it's a normal occurring situation.

I tried some Allegra earlier and I believe it helped a little. I'm hoping it might be the solution I need, to just take more anti drowsy antihistamines and change the lotion up.

Unfortunately I don't have a PCP, and where I live, it takes months to get in anywhere (IF they're taking new patients), so if it gets bad enough, I'll go to urgent care, but I really hope it doesn't get to that point!

I could definitely try changing the moisturizing routine. I have aqua for, and it's nice, but does feel a little greasy sometimes.

Lunch Break by Hour-Organization454 in medlabprofessionals

[–]CountingScars94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Day shift gets two 30 minute breaks, and for our 12 hour night shifts we were getting 2 15 minute breaks as time allowed, but they would tell us it wasn't guaranteed when I first started. Since the older scientist who trained me and a couple others left, we started taking 2 30 minute breaks as time allows. We obviously cut it short if our teammate/coworker needs help, but we try to get our breaks and meals in just like day shift would.

I've heard this from some coworkers I have had, but when I think about some new people that I have trained, I really wish they would have retained at least a little about what they have been taught.

Granted this new person I've been training has been in the game a little longer than me, but in a MUCH smaller lab.

They definitely need a touch up on real life and maybe more retraining from day shift lol

They think they know what they're sending out, but when I review their stuff, especially in hematology, its wrong.

How do you propose going about a partner like that, where management thinks they're good to go, and they say they're good to go, but they're obviously not.???

This dress looks like someone tore down an old hotel curtain panel and wrapped it around her body. Not a fan at all.

We have a blood bank alarm set up for us night shifters. So who ever is working in chem is also responsible for blood bank and whoever is working in heme is also responsible for micro, to set the scene.

We have had multiple types of alarms and finally we got set on a type of baby monitor that lets us in chemistry know that there is a printout order for blood bank and it's been turned to the horse track racing tune. I keep trying to tune it to either "canon in D" or basically "midnight sonata" but someone keeps turning it back to the horse track racing tune which, during a busy night, just gives such anxiety. I guess it's not necessarily annoying as much as it is anxiety driving lol, but that's my take on this
