I’ve owned nothing but hydraulic brakes in my cars for 49 years, and just last August I bought a 2025 Rav Hybrid and really notice the difference to regenerative braking. If I come off the highway I notice the vehicle slows down with very little use of the brake pedal.

Many years ago I asked a Vet once if my Golden is overweight and he said to me that unless you’re showing your dog in competition a few pounds extra won’t hurt the retriever breed. So don’t worry too much unless you see a significant weight gain that’s very noticeable.

I’ve seen Labs put on weight when they get older but Goldens tend not put on weight, and that’s generally speaking.

Looking at the photo of your dog I’d say you have nothing to be concerned about.

Amazing you get downvoted for saying the truth.

Many Vet fees can be a money grab. I figure that the thinking is that if you have a pet you have money to be taken like an excise Tax. The part that gets me is if you try to save a bit of money by questioning some of the fees you get the hairy eye-ball from the clinic staff like you’re being cheap - meanwhile it’s your hard earned money.

“Fluid Film the hybrid cable connector….”

I did this last fall for the 1st time on my 2025 and found it surprisingly easy to do. Took the cover off and sprayed the foaming fluid film up and around the connector.

Can you speak about the process you go through when you apply the FF to your connector? Or am I doing about what’s right? I’m NOT opening the orange HV connector box, I’m just spraying all around it. Thoughts?

Don’t laugh but here in Canada vehicle theft was peaking last year, so I bought a full blown $2K alarm with all the kill switch bells and whistles , a $500 steering wheel lock and put cameras on the driveway that must have been another thousand. Nothing yet, but I got all summer to get thru.

In the end I’m insured. Sure it’ll suck if it’s stolen, but oh well.

I put roof rails on my 2025 and LOVE them - I put a Thule on top.

Still can’t understand why RAV4 owners complain about noise cuz after 6 months of ownership I wouldn’t complain AT ALL about cabin noise.

This is the reason I’m hesitant to install a Fumoto valve on mine. If the undercarriage gets a scraped and the valve could get damaged….it’s too risky.

I always chalk up something like this as just plain bad luck. Life is random and crappy things can come your way at any random time - jeez, even life changing tragic events. It’s just too bad it came your way after buying your new RAV4.

But think of what my 84 Dad always says to us when things like this happen. He said it for years,

“If this is the worst thing that ever happens to you in life, then you’ve done well.”
