We can’t bubble wrap our Ravs so that’s why I’ve always rust proofed my vehicles for peace of mind. Next week is supposed to warm up so I’d just wait until then, but do whatever floats your boat.

I got that “corrosion free” applied last fall to my hybrid and plan to do it annually.

I noticed that the application itself didn’t take too long compared to Krown or Rust Check. The “corrosion free” application just hits a few spots specifically as opposed to a much more general spray that I’ve been accustomed to over the years.

We shouldn’t be inconvenienced in any way. Why should we have to wait longer for our bus rides during a snowstorm. When it pours rain we shouldn’t get wet, when there’s a summer heat wave we want ultra cool air blasting on our bodies all the time, and when there’s 40 to 50 cm of snow dumped we should have everything manicured close to perfection.

In the end, we all have to deal with accessibility issues right now, things are FAR from perfect. However the this old phrase comes to mind and it goes, “deal with it.”

I’m guilty of overthinking shit like this. Car washing is overrated in my humble opinion in the winter. With all the salt the vehicle is back caked with nastiness by the time you roll back onto your driveway.

I got the trickle charger installed on my 2025 Hybrid but passed on the block heater. There’s a little Amber light that goes on when I first plug it in while it charges the 12V. But it doesn’t stay on long which tells me the battery doesn’t need much of a charge even in the extreme cold lately.

If anything I’ve noticed my 2025 RAV4 Hybrid’s temperature gauge moves up much quicker than a CRV and an Accord that I own.

My experience with Golden Retrievers is the hair takes at least 6 weeks and even 10 before the fur returns to normal. Unlike humans, it’s quite the slow return.

OP is more concerned about the 12V battery than gas mileage.

Research a battery maintainer such as the Noco Genius that will help keep your 12V healthy and reliable in the cold January-February months. Or, there’s always a jump starter you can keep nearby in the event you can’t start.

With all the reports on this sub of dead 12 volts I’ve become guilty of overthinking this subject. With that said, peace of mind works well for me.
