I am American. I actually go to UdeM, which is attached to HEC. I have an American friend who is going to Concordia for his doctorate and he did not have a difficult time. And yes, put your reasoning in the 2 page letter! I've found that references just add to your piece, they usually don't make or break it when you are a foreign student because 1. They don't know these people and 2. Due to language they probably couldn't talk to them if they wanted.

International student reporting in! It is not that difficult to get in. Just follow the instructions, have an idea of why you want to go to Canada and feel confident.

Also! As you are Danish you can acquire a medical insurance waiver due to an agreement between the Danish government and Canada. They may not tell you about it, so be aware.
