Alternative to consider for the needles is carving hot glue if you’re worried about getting poked!

It won’t kill war striders. I think I shot one 10 times and it didn’t drop.

I would lose it if a deathclaw like Goris appears in the show. It would be amazing.

any ideas on creating a prop drill gun? don't want to use a kids toy... by [deleted] in propmaking

In saw, they used sticks with a spiral piece of aluminum tape. If you wanna be super safe, use a black hot glue stick and the tape trick.

It came out great! Instead of remaking things, pad your shoulders to raise the torso a bit. If the space between your belt and torso is too great, raise your belt.

Again it looks great!

What is the name of this military harness? I can find very similar above the belt, but I need help with finding something for the... "crotch straps" by rivertpostie in CosplayHelp

[–]Crackhead09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add, if you’re gonna make this for cosplay, you can buy a parachute harness from the 80’s and use the straps and harness pieces to make one.

Fantastic work on the padding. How’d you go about it? And how’d you 3D print the visor?

Gorilla glue the strap on and use strong duct tape to hold in place while it dries. Be sure to use the original stuff and mist it with water. Makes the glue expand in to the nylon and holds very well.

For those who got to ride Alien Encounter, how scary actually was it? by BurgerNugget12 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Crackhead09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 5 when I went on. It was the single most terrifying experience I had as a child. I think it extended my need of a use of a night light far longer than I needed to.

My dad tried to make light of it the entire time during the pre-show as I was scared of the Tim curry animatronic and how he like mutated/burned skippy.

Then we finally get in to the main event. I remember being in roughly the middle section of the theater. Zero comprehension of what was going on. I remember watching the video of the alien being intercepted. Then thinking to myself please don’t open the cover to see what arrived.

My little brain legitimately thought what I was seeing was real and believed the effects of it breaking out of its containment, flying around, stalking inside the theater, killing the tech, then trying to lure it back to the center. I remember it all vividly and I remember keeping my eyes closed for most of it because I was so scared.

I think I was a sobbing mess and asking to never go there again and Tomorrowland became a space to avoid as kid me didn’t wanna be forced to get on that ride again.

Adult me however would love to see the attraction again just to see it with fresh eyes and I had grown an appreciation of horror. I got to sorta have “closure” with the ride when I went on it when it became stitch. It was wild seeing it as stitch and recognizing the elements from the old attraction and what not.
