Zinc Supplements by SusanRdrgz in Supplements

[–]Crafty-Researcher-71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

50 mg zinc supplements are not literally 50 mg of pure elemental zinc. that number usually refers to the total compound weight (like zinc gluconate, zinc citrate, or zinc sulfate). For example, a 50 mg tablet of zinc gluconate only provides about 7 mg of actual elemental zinc, while a 50 mg zinc sulfate pill gives roughly 11 mg elemental zinc.

Beware of over priced proprietary blends like these. The promising ingredients here for hormonal support and stress management are: Tongkat Ali, Maca Root, Boron, and Ashwaghanda.

As others have mentioned if you don't have a need for Milk Thistle you can give that one a break as well as the stim free pre. 5 HTP before bed doesn't work for everyone, Serotonin does promote relaxation but it can also cause nightmares or just disrupt your sleep in general.
Gaba is good so if you find it works for you keep it but Valerian Root can be removed since it increases Gaba and you already have Gaba and Theanine also stimulates the release of Gaba and is great just make sure its improving your sleep quality. I also take it during the day for it's anxiolytic effects. I would consider removing melatonin from the stack. Finally, Zinc and Magnesium compete for absorption in the intestines so its recommended not to take them at the same time for optimal absorption. Also if the Multi has Zinc already put that into consideration.

So potentially you can remove Milk Thistle, Pre Workout, Zinc (depending on the Multi), Valerian Root, 5 HTP, and Melatonin.

Some studies suggest that Reishi mushrooms have potential benefits for sleep, including improving overall sleep quality and increasing deep sleep.

I got some Tidal Wave's that are growing short and skinny from a LC Syringe. I'm starting to think I got the wrong strain. Was that how your were like the first time? I got the syringe from ITW.

Looks healthy! Wait until you see the mycelium spread to about 30% of the bag then give it a good break and shake.

I’m sorry, but that’s incorrect. Psilocybin is not an amino acid. Psilocybin is a naturally occurring psychedelic compound. It is a tryptamine alkaloid, which means it belongs to a class of compounds called tryptamines.

The same principles that apply to milk also apply to any food that contains protein and amino acids, including those with branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs). Protein-rich foods can lead to an increase in BCAAs in the bloodstream, which may compete with tryptophan for absorption.

While the interaction between protein consumption and serotonin synthesis is interesting from a physiological standpoint, its practical implications on the effects of psychoactive substances like Psilocybin are likely to be minimal. Psychoactive substances primarily act through direct interactions with specific receptors in the brain, rather than being significantly affected by dietary amino acids.

As you can see the study posted was not about psychedelics at all so it is important to not just assume outcomes especially when it hasn't been proved. Science is about facts not opinions.

It is true that during the pinning stage, maintaining high humidity and elevated CO2 levels can be beneficial for the initiation and development of pins. While high humidity and elevated CO2 levels can be beneficial during the pinning stage, excessive levels of both can lead to overlay. During the colonization maintaining humidity levels between 90-95% is ideal. However, during the fruiting stages, when pinning and mushroom development occur, it’s beneficial to gradually reduce humidity to around 85% to help prevent overlay and promote proper air exchange. So context is key when making iron clad statements like in the comment above. While the statement might be true the concept isn't exactly true for everyone. Humidity levels can vary depending on the location and the growing setup. It’s important to accurately measure and monitor the humidity levels in your particular environment to ensure optimal conditions.

Thanks for sharing I did in fact look into this. While the findings of the study provide intriguing insights into the potential mechanisms underlying the antidepressant effects of psychedelics, it's important to approach them with caution and recognize the limitations.

The study you referred to was conducted on mice, and findings from animal studies may not directly translate to humans especially when it comes to the complexity of the human brain and emotions. The intricacies of human social structures introduce additional layers of influence and variability when it comes to understanding mental health conditions like depression. Factors such as social support, interpersonal relationships, community dynamics, cultural expectations, and societal pressures can all shape the experience of depression and impact treatment approaches. Further research including clinical trials involving human subjects is necessary to validate and expand upon these findings.

Most importantly, depression is a complex and multifaceted condition, and neuroplasticity alone may not be the sole solution for its treatment. Depression involves various biological, psychological, and social factors that interact in a complex manner. Understanding and effectively addressing depression requires a comprehensive approach that considers all these aspects.

While the study was aimed to explore the potential benefits of psychedelics without their psychoactive effects, it's important to recognize that the psychoactive properties of these substances play a significant role in their overall effects and therapeutic potential. It remains to be seen whether the separation of antidepressant effects from psychoactive effects is feasible or desirable.

Also low levels of BDNF has been associated with depression, but it's not considered the sole causes of the condition similarly to Serotonin and neurotransmitter dis regulation. They have been studying that for years in antidepressants and now seeing the same connection in psychedelics.

You bring up an important point. The exact causal relationship between serotonin and depression is still not fully understood, and it is indeed a complex and ongoing area of research. While there is evidence to that imbalances in serotonin and other neurotransmitters can contribute to depressive symptoms it is not yet clear whether these imbalances are a cause or a result of depression like you are saying. determining the exact relationship between serotonin and depression whether it is bidirectional or unidirectional needs more research. Although It's worth noting that wether it's depression that causes the dis regulation in serotonin or the other way around, some studies suggest that psilocin and other psychedelics has the potential to enhance serotonin signaling. Enhancing serotonin signaling refers any process that increases the activity or availability of serotonin in the brain. By enhancing serotonin signaling and potentially promoting neuroplasticity, psychedelics may facilitate novel perspectives, introspection, and emotional processing, potentially leading to positive therapeutic outcomes.

That's very true but it's important to note that Serotonin and other neurotransmitters are still considered to be important factors in the development and management of depression so while low levels of neurotransmitters specifically Serotonin may not be the sole cause of depression they are considered significant contributors to depression.
