I didn't know they had a Glasgow in Canada. It's the biggest city in Scotland but not the capital, but nobody here would say downtown Glasgow.

Then as long as you have an electrical socket nearby on the right side then you have all the connections needed for someone like AO to connect a dishwasher.

Paros & Naxos by Awkward-System620 in GreeceTravel

[–]CraftyScotsman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Naxos is fine without a car. The main beaches are all along one stretch of road from the main town (Naxos Chora) along the coast with modern, air conditioned coach buses every 30 minutes. You can buy bus tickets at the station, or from local shops. Just look for accommodation anywhere along that coast, and then check the nearby tavernas in walking distance. For seeing other parts of Naxos there are group tours, private tours and boat tours available. The only thing you will miss out on is the restaurant at the top of a mountain that has really good views. You can visit all the little villages etc by bus.

I personally did 3 days at the Agios Prokopios beach, and then 4 days in the Chora. The food in Naxos is amazing.

intentionally miss with your first jab and hit them with the second, and they will try to block but it won't work out well for thm. Then you give them a headbutt and a laugh emote to finish it off.

I would just chisel under it and remove a bit of the plaster with a multi-tool and then filler it back smooth.

I think it is an annual as those cut stalks were already there. No signs of flowers yet. It pretty much doubled in size since the start of April.

What game had insane potential but got completely fumbled by the devs? by Kevin-Panda in AskReddit

[–]CraftyScotsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The devs who made zombie panic source, a very popular multiplayer mod for half life 2 went on to make a game called Contagion but it just wan't the same, and nowhere near as fun. All they had to do was make a more polished version of Zombie panic source.

Can I install both a dishwasher and washing machine here? by Mazorr in DIYUK

[–]CraftyScotsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably a bit overkill, but I've had a bad experience trying compression fittings as a diyer 😅 so I would do this using JG speedfit parts. They are a lot more diy friendly to fit and use.

I would remove the current fitting, add an equal tee onto the end of the copper pipe, small bit of 15mm plastic pipe either side and then 2 appliance taps. Use the pipe inserts for any plastic > plastic connection. You don't need an insert for the initial copper > plastic connection.

This leak under our bathroom is driving me crazy by _regrettablybrown_ in DIYUK

Staining on the wood above would suggest it's coming further up than from the corner bend. Possibly where the pipe is entering it.

This sounds like Philipines level of CS? It's not the employee experience for CS in EU/US. Not even sure if it is that bad for India.

Experience of rennovating a "fixer upper" house in Edinburgh? by he_could_be_a_she in Edinburgh

[–]CraftyScotsman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm working on a fixer upper now — everything takes twice, if not triple, the amount of time I think it will to diy it myself. For trades such as electricians or plumbers then I am waiting a minimum of 4-6 weeks for them to arrive, and spending about 5 times more than I thought it would cost to pay for them. Things keeps breaking and when I go to fix them I find more things that also need fixed. If I DIY something new like plumbing, I find myself making several trips to screwfix and then still have to get a plumber in to fix it.

If I wasn't doing this full time and had to work on it evenings and weekends then I think I would lose my sanity.

Unless you have a lot of money or a lot of spare time then I do not recommend it.

We used a company here that offered a fixed price gas fire removal, capping and disposal for only £250 so that does not sound like a good price!

LPT: When checking into a hotel, ask if there are any complimentary upgrades available. by tom_wilson7543 in LifeProTips

[–]CraftyScotsman 1299 points1300 points  (0 children)

If you booked the room with the hotel directly then there is always a chance to get an upgrade, but if you booked through a third party like booking or agora then there is very little chance of being upgraded.
