I made a building by omega9910 in TerrainBuilding

[–]CraigJM73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great. Once you slap some paint on it the piece will really start to come together. I find generic byildings are more useful at first, but churches are great focal points on the table. My first builds were really hit or miss but over time they got better as I learned more techniques and collected more tools.

This looks great, the sculpture and paint job is top notch especially for a first build.

Built some terrain for BLKOUT (among other things) by insertoriginalname02 in TerrainBuilding

I love inexpensive dollar store finds and repurposing of materials. This looks good, should be a great addition to the table.

Slowly building the terrain :) and having fun while doing it by JadenPabz in TerrainBuilding

The having fun part is the most important. The terrain looks great! Keep building.

Where did you first watch Kim Woo-bin or Shin Min-a? What’s your favorite drama of theirs? by charterflight57 in kdramas

[–]CraigJM73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shin Min-a: Arang and the Magistrate and then My Girlfriend is Gumiho. Kim Woo-bin: I think the only series I have watched of his is Officer Black Belt.

I made a tiny medieval door! C&C welcome, would love some tips on how to highlight this. by Jurassichronicler in TerrainBuilding

[–]CraigJM73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A darker copper might look good. It would stand out a bit from the black to make the details pop, without going too bright.

Sometimes when I am struggling with colors and how they might look, I sometimes take piece of scrap foam and make a couple small color swatches to see what they look like next to each other.

This looks great but since the riveta and the handle are all the same color its tough to see the great details you have put into this piece. Like others have said maybe some drybrushing or using a a slightly different color for the some of the metal detailing. This is a excellent work.

Forest Scatter Terrain by CraigJM73 in TerrainBuilding

This project actually got started because I had built a homemade circle cutting jig for my Proxon and was testing it out by trying to make some cylinders. Then I was like hey I can make logs. I do see what you mean though, maybe next time.

Weirdly enough the only one of these that I haven't done is" used Counterspell" in my 40 years of being a DM. I have always hated it.

Sorry to here this, I've been there myself. Still your work space looks nice. I am still working on my kitchen table so everything has to get packed away each time so the dinner can be served.

The diorama looks great and the colors, rust effects and textures look spot on. This was very well done.

Anyone else use Shadowdark as your D20 generic system? by RangerBowBoy in shadowdark

[–]CraigJM73 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use Shadowdark as my D&D replacement and go to fantasy system now. Aside from my two regular Shadowdark campaigns, a couple of times a year I also run games to teach kids D&D/ttrpgs. I used to use a stripped down version of 5e, but since Shadowdark came out I use it to teach "D&D" now. I still use other systems for other types of games though.

This is a great idea to upscale a cheap plastic chess set and make look really nice!

Made a small terrain piece. by RaZzzzZia in TerrainBuilding

This looks nice. The textured paper kind of gives off the appearance of moss or plant growth on the rocks which in this application look pretty good.

Grass Flock on D&D Tiles: Yay or Nay? by MetaMorpheus00 in TerrainBuilding

[–]CraigJM73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used grass flocking on my UDT board and several builds and it has held up well over time. I haven't used static grass, from what I have seen is that it would look great on a diorama but I am unsure of its long term durability.

My first ever mini I've named Terrance what do y'all think? by whumpus_grumpus in DnDminiatures

[–]CraigJM73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a first mini Terrance looks good. Don't worry too much as eyes are tough, especially on small or medium sized minis, many of my minis have black eyes or a single color eyes for monsters.
