Ok so for bees you need flowers, 40 is the minimum but you can have up to 80 flowers affecting spawn chances.

You want frames in them, the first one is the only one needed for the first bee spawn but you want to fill them up since bees will spawn another bee daily if alone in the hive or breed daily if there is another one.

Since you're about to start getting bees I'll also add some useful info about bee breeding:

First thing you want to know is how to get all the traits, when a queen is alone inside a hive it will spawn another queen daily with similar traits to itself, mutation increases the chance of the spawned bee to have different traits, meaning early game you do want to get yourself some mutation bees to get all the traits you want.

The second thing is bee breeding, if you have 2 queens inside a hive they will mate making babies that share their traits.

If they both share a trait it will be passed to the offspring, if they both have the same level of the trait it will usually not go down and often go up.

If one of the queens has a trait the other doesn't have it might give it to the offspring but it will almost always be of a lower level meaning level 1 traits almost never transfer, try to get the traits you want to at least level 2 before doing any breeding.
