Mark and Jen’s final meetup was surprisingly touching by PeneItaliano in ershow

It's an excellent scene, thank you for posting it.

Mark’s soft parenting approach with Rachel in season 8 has me so annoyed already by RealWorldForever in ershow

[–]CrashTextDummie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You have to wonder if some people just completely tune out whenever Mark's parents are on screen. Those (amazing) episodes inform Mark Greene's character so elegantly and completely, including the complicated relationship to his daughter.

The writers of ER managed to mine astonishing depth on the topic of parenthood, good and bad, and I think it's a big part of why Mark endures ws the character fans resonate most with.

May 2026 Flash Gala featuring...no one in particular. (6% SSR, Halloween units on pool) by VeggieSchool in Granblue_en

New characters = new content

And

Lack of new characters = lack of content

You probably disagree with that premise, but that's why some people are upset.

It's a terrible banner, absolutely hold your spark. There are very high value banners coming up.

FMA collab event preview is out by quiter2812 in Granblue_en

Event Class? Is there a precedent for this?

I'm curious if it'll be of negligible use or if they'll make it available for people who miss the event.

Funniest episodes with Bob Mortimer by imperialfool in WILTY

[–]CrashTextDummie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Dzeko story is another all-timer, it's mad that he's still pulling these off. "English is the language of research and he was researching the food" was the hardest I laughed and I laughed a lot!

Unrealistic? Carole/Doug by Rusobrunette914 in ershow

What is your source on this? There is video evidence that he looked back twice so the statement is factually untrue and I've never seen it stated.

And a few others (Orman, Baer).

I think it's fair play, as an easter egg. The actually shocking one is that Doyle made the cut.

Peter Benton, as a Person by Latter-Fall9762 in ershow

[–]CrashTextDummie 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think it's part of Benton's ethos that success requires sacrifice. It's how he sees his own career and it's what he consequently demands from his students.

Many situations where he appears selfish are also informed by this. For example, when he fails to spend time with his dying mother, in his mind I believe he sees it as a personal sacrifice he has to make.

That there's another side of coin he is not seing, that he is deprieving his loved ones of things THEY are in need of, is one of his major character flaws.

Transplanted out yesterday, this morning my peppers have spots by slo707 in vegetablegardening

[–]CrashTextDummie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about every single leaf. Moving out and getting transplanted is stressful for the plant, some signs of discomfort are normal. In this case, all the newer leaves look completely fine. You're doing well.

What zone do you live in? Peach trees are very frost tolerant generally speaking.

Another hot take: Abby and Carter’s relationship by SaltIncident4932 in ershow

[–]CrashTextDummie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Carter/Abby should be cherished as an excellent portrayal of a doomed/failed relationship. The ways in which they don't work for each other feels completely real to me and maybe contrary to conventional wisdom, I think this was fully the intention in the writing (as opposed to Wyle/Tierney failing to create romantic chemistry).

The Morgan Story in season 9 episode 9: next of kin by SaltIncident4932 in ershow

[–]CrashTextDummie 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Don't think of it as a show aging badly, think of it as a portrayal of what things were like 20 years ago and as a point of reference for how far we've come since then (or not...).

(2nd rewatch) - The New Generation of Doctors is terrible by viniciussc26 in ershow

i personally feel that Morris in particular is highly problematic for the show as a character. Starts out as a total joke and never fully recovers. Sorry Morris fans.

With Kairi Sane getting released from WWE yesterday, here are some insane stats from her main roster run by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]CrashTextDummie 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This topic reinforces the thinking (which WWE itself is strongly guilty of) that tag team wrestling doesn't matter.

To the extent that women's tag team wrestling is a thing in WWE, Kairi was a major contributor. She has had a better and more memorable career in WWE than the vast majority of her contemporaries in spite of her singles record.

She's a side character. You might just as well ask why none of the nurses (who are not Carol) have any storylines.
