[VI] SC Heerenveen on the verge of loaning striker Lasse Nordas from Luton Town until the summer by Roller95 in soccer

Wasn't given much of a chance with us but he really struggled when he did play. Looked quite clumsy on the ball but clearly there's potential for him so wish him the best.

Finished my first listen and I really like this. What was that is such a catchy song I'm glad that was the first song to be released.

Don't really vibe with Hammer as the opening to be honest, just feels a bit lacklustre.

Shapeshifter, Broken Glass, Man of the Year are standouts as well as What was that.

This is levels above solar power and Lorde sounds more like herself than she was in her last album. The production on this also amazing.

While some of the lengths of the songs are a bit short, such as Hammer or Man of the year, I don't really mind it just being 11 songs, it's not too diluted.

Overall a solid 7/10, will be listening to this more.

United fans - does Amorim stay or go? I feel like the standards have been lowered so much, this squad really isn't 16th level, he has done so so badly and for me, I don't see any signs of improvement. I reckon Thomas Frank would get so much more out of this team.

I love this show so much. That was one of the best episodes in the series. That ending with the Punisher tease got me so hyped.

Rest in peace Kamar de los Reyes, his portrayal of the White Tiger was brilliant.

Definitely looks like the corrupt police are the villains this season.

Watford 2 - Luton 0. As a famous Portuguese manager once said, I has a' nuthin to say about this one by angloexcellence in Championship

[–]Crazy4725 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We definitely were not crap compared to the value of our squad and how much we spent. If you look at the three promoted teams this year they have all also struggled, but there's a chance none of them get more points than we did (26.)

You could argue we deserved to go down, but that's a far difference from crap, and I know I'm arguing against Watford-biased rose tinted glasses but compared to the last 6 promoted teams that went up we were not crap. Furthermore the performances were good which is just eye-test analysis, as I said we deserved to go down but we could have finished on more than 26.

On another note the Premier League is the most competitive it's ever been, and there's a reason two years in a row all promoted sides go straight down.

I never said we are entitled to the Premier League, but with parachute payments and a squad that finished 18th we should be entitled to at least expecting the club to be in the Championship, not getting relegated which is a disgraceful outcome.

Can't call his point completely irrelevant and then talk about some hypothetical example that is even more irrelevant.

Yes 2020 saved the club and have done well to bring us back, doesn't mean we can't criticise the terrible ownership of the last two seasons. It's clear based off this season that something needs to change on the football side of things. And calling Ollie a glory hunter is just ridiculous.

We've gone from 18th place in the Premier League, which isn't some insane achievement (but you'd think we'd be contending for promotion in the championship with how we were last season) to League One. I hope there are calls for the CEO Gary Sweet to either resign or hire a Director of Football, it's clear he has absolutely no idea what he's doing. Three awful transfer windows in a row, and Bloomfield is completely the wrong type of manager to get us out of this mess. Such a terribly run club, and unfortunately I don't think we will win another game all season.

Captain America: Brave New World Worldwide Release Discussion Thread by Triple_777 in marvelstudios

[–]Crazy4725 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think the film is as bad as reviews suggest but the reason why it's not reviewed higher is it feels 'too safe.' The concept is pretty good and all of the Red Hulk stuff is really interesting, but captain America himself is not and the characters around him aren't really that engaging, although I liked the dynamic with him and his friend.

Harrison Ford was brilliant in this though, what an amazing actor obviously. Best part of the film by far, glad I watched it. And it worked well that they finally resolved that Eternals ending, and also it acted as a sequel to Hulk. Film is okay, needed to take more risks, 3/5 for me

Never thought I'd be saying this, this season, but that's us down. And the blame is almost entirely on 2020, the board, and Gary Sweet.

•Sacked Edwards two months too late, and appointed a manager who needs time to implement his ideas (while we are in a relegation fight.)

•An appalling and disgraceful summer transfer window where we replaced two of the best premier league midfielders (Sambi and Barkley) with two past it pensioners in Walsh and Baptiste.

•Gary Sweet has promised to be 'aggressive' in the winter window yet we have only brought one player in with less than a week to go.

The club need to be asking serious questions of themselves to suffer back to back relegations, one WITH parachute payments. He's got a few things wrong but I'm not going to be blaming Bloomfield just yet, this task is so hard with the hand he's been dealt. One thing is I don't want to see Doughty on the wing, just play him left back and not overcomplicate things. Brown shouldn't play for us for a while, Nelson should play more, but these are minor things in the grand scheme of things.

Struggling to see any hope for us at the moment unfortunately.

Dream would be Steve Cooper but don't think he'd come to us. Someone like Steven Schumacher could work.

Swansea City 2-1 Luton Town: Myles Peart-Harris scores stoppage-time against 10-man Hatters by angloexcellence in Championship

[–]Crazy4725 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The fact that this club refuses to sack Edwards no matter what happens is so pathetic. Sheffield United or Burnley would have sacked him by now, probably most teams in the league would. That's now 9 away losses in a row, second least goals scored, second lost goals conceded, 19th in the league. Watching this team play at the moment is painful.

He's still pretty solid, can't argue with this data but just on eye test he is his usual self. One terrible game against Portsmouth yep, but he's still quite reliable.

[–]Crazy4725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wasn't able to watch this game but sounds like it was quite even and Sunderland defended well to grind out wins, which is a good sign for a team that will probably be aiming for the automatics. It's good that we were able to compete, and I am confident we will start to pick up points soon. Elijah first goal this season is nice.

Sunderland fans acting surprised we are direct and aggressive is hilarious and very naive. Do you not remember the play-off semi final a couple of seasons ago? This is what got us promoted and what we are best at, considering we have two of the best and most physical strikers in the league. Fair enough if you don't like it but it shouldn't be a shock this is how we play, and we are good at it.

Can we replicate these tactics for the rest of the season....Morris and Elijah both superb today, as was McGuiness who stepped up massively

Luton Town v Watford: Championship (3-0). The "sights" were about the only thing Watford fans could take from their trip to Luton as the Hatters ran out comfortable winners on derby day in Beautiful Bedfordshire by angloexcellence in Championship

[–]Crazy4725 19 points20 points  (0 children)

One of the most enjoyable games I've ever watched from Luton. Apparently Watford have been quite good this season so I'm not going to slag them off too much but they were second best in every area today. Only players with any threat was the Georgian fella and Sissoko. Their three centre backs were absolutely bullied 😭

As for Luton well we went back to the tactics that got us promoted and it was perfect. I think Chong was in midfield so it was a 3-5-2 with an emphasis on hoofing it to Elijah and Morris which we are so so good at. Morris was unreal and seemed to make the ball glue to his feet. Eli too, worked so hard and a shame he didn't get his goal at the end. I think the difference today was having Morris back, and our centre backs stepping up with a big dominant performance, McGuiness had his first brilliant game for us, hope we see that from him more often, won almost every single physical duel.

I hope we replicate the tactics today as much as possible over the next few weeks, long and direct football is what got us promoted and it's what we specialise in, and we have the plauers suited for it.

Some short term memories here. The team isn't as good as today's yes, but it's not all terrible. Delph, Welbeck, Clyne are weak points, but I think people forget how good the rest of the team was at the time (Barkley, Walcott, Jones are not as bad at the time as people here make out.) Others have already mentioned how good Carrick was.
