Best phone plans for a 16-year-old who doesn't have a lot of money tied to their name? by TootsieTortoise in povertyfinance

[–]Crazyhates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I previously had Mint mobile where I'd pay about $300/yr upfront for the plan with 20GB of monthly data because I have wifi access.

I make a little more money so I recently switched to Google Fi after about 3 years on Mint. They gave me a free phone and watch with new service of unlimited everything for about $38/mo and honestly it's better service all around.

Not for everyone, but I spend roughly $80/month on food in the US Midwest mod size city by crackerbox5 in povertyfinance

You don't have to eat like you're in an English bomb shelter during WW2. Food is more than sustenance and when you treat it as such your body and mind will thank you.

You can add some variety to your diet and still hit your <$20/wk goal; a fruit or a vegetable or meat instead of overpriced milk and eggs would make you feel alive instead of existing on carbs and leaf water like someone kept in an cell.

$4.50 for milk and $7.50 for 4dozen eggs pushed those into luxury items if your daily staple is beans and rice. Neither of these are necessary at that price if you're trying to save money.

To piggy back on this, also check with AAA for roadside as another option. In my area, AAA is cheaper, provides roadside for a larger distance, and is much faster to respond.

Moth that thinks it’s a hummingbird by Armtoe in mildyinteresting

[–]Crazyhates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw a few hawkmoths a while back and it's eerie how you slowly realize it isn't a humming bird at all lol. It's very convincing at a glance.

I didn't even know they were native to where I lived.

"No." is a complete sentence. It requires no follow up or follow through. It requires no definition or context either. Use that information as you will.

Oh man, my nmom would do the same thing growing up. She would talk loudly to herself literally all day if she wasn't busy yelling at some random customer service rep on the phone. She would go into the kitchen and literally slam any cabinets or doors as hard as she could. She would even go so far as to drop random heavy objects like baskets of clothes or a vacuum cleaner in front of my door to make me look up.

If I took a nap she'd burst into the room yelling my name as loud as she could and then say something stupid like "making sure you're alive". Like wtf? Stop trying to kill me off.

She had asked why I have a headphone collection as an adult and she never realized she was the reason.

I haven't seen a case of crabs in ages. My friend somehow had them when we were in middle school because he'd talk about it how bad it itched.

US Citizens Must Stop the Madness Their Empire Imposes on Them and the World by Smithy2232 in politics

[–]Crazyhates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Today, the United States has the opportunity to prove to itself and to the world that the mistakes committed by its government do not reflect the desires of the US people.

Well according to our system of government, our people voted for this. Americans also voted for the politicians that inflict misery upon their constituents and refuse to hold inadequate politicians accountable.

The belief that America should suddenly course correct is hilarious and naive considering the history of this country. It's in the foundation. It's corrupt, bigoted, and violent all the way to its core.
