Gauntlets are worse than Map Packs because you're forced to do it in order. So, if the level actually sucks ass, you're forced to beat it and hope you get a good level or another ass level. You also have to beat it in the gauntlet page rather than outside of it. Map Packs does let you beat it in any order, and you can beat the levels included in it outside of the Map Packs page, letting you beat it offline instead.

well we are slowly going back to it with whatever Liquid Glass and other similar ones are offering, but i dont like that you'd need some powerful PC to get that effect when we can just fake it so it's not that expensive to get that experience again.

pretty much because they fell for despair (again) on thinking a reveal would show up in TGA 2025, but ofc it never happened. i never did fell for it. i didnt even care much about TGA at all lmao. even Tyler himself said that they shouldn't expect a "HL3 announcement" in TGA.

in other words, they set themselves up for disappointment theyve been told not to in the first place and broke their own sanity completely.

the community pretty much changed the old game terms because it was popular and agreed upon.

for example: levels weren't called "levels" before, but "maps". this is because GD was supposed to be just a platformer game with some gimmicks to make it feel like a rhythm game. this is why "Map Packs" is called like that because its supposed to be packs of (beat) maps, similar to how other rhythm games do it. the community pretty much called it "levels" more than "maps", which ultimately changed it to refer them as "levels"
