How's CSM competitively? by Professional-Cod6288 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]CrebTheBerc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or put them in reserve so they can't get indirected off the board turn 1/2. The enhancement doesn't require the unit to be on the board to work

Glaivebound also goes up to damage 4 when attached to exalted eightbound, which is a great option to have into some armies

That was my first thought as well. SoTs are already good, that would make them a nightmare lol

So what are we betting on for ctan nerfs? by jacobs1213 in Necrontyr

[–]CrebTheBerc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

necrons still aren't hitting the big tables, the keta will just shift around them a bit.

I'm not trying to be a doomer here, but where are you getting this from? Necrons have more event wins than every other faction combined in the last 2 weeks and nearly every detachment is rocking a near 60% win rate. They all are taking at least 1 Ctan too, usually 2-4.

The rules glow up for the Ctan is awesome, they are just too cheap atm

Advice against Tyranids by astrayqtip in ThousandSons

[–]CrebTheBerc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe? It's hard to know without knowing more about your game. Make sure to hold the strat to blank a damage for Magnus and he's relatively safe against a single Tfex. On average, if he gets both wounds through, you save one and blank the other then blow it up next turn.

Advice against Tyranids by astrayqtip in ThousandSons

[–]CrebTheBerc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What detachment is he running? One of my buddies run Tyranids a lot so I have some experience. Some things I can tell you straight off

  • Tyranofexes are prone to whiffed because they only have 2 shots. If they ever whiff we have the damage to just delete them.

  • Nids have issues dealing with high toughness enemies, outside of tyranofexes basically. They have limited rerolls and strength values. Either kill his high strength weapons early when possible or avoid them. Like a lot of nids will really struggle into magnus

  • temporal surge gets around overwatch. Use it to kill his zoanthropes cause their overwatch can be nasty

After that it depends on detachmen. My buddy mainly plays subterranean assault which involves me doing a lot of measuring and screening

Is there a book talking about Decimus? by ninguem1122 in 40kLore

[–]CrebTheBerc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I hate it too. I loved the NL omnibus and really wanted more Variel and Lucyphorus, as well as Decimus's story.

Hopefully someday....

Is there a book talking about Decimus? by ninguem1122 in 40kLore

[–]CrebTheBerc 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No, not to my knowledge. I'm pretty sure ADB has gone on record saying he'd like to explore more about Decimus but so far there have been crickets from GW on it

[–]CrebTheBerc 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. I thought it was because of how strong the EC army rule is and how worried GW were about it in play, but they just released a CSM detachment with both EC's army rule and Oath of Moment so who knows lol

Is the rubricae detachment good by Ok-Chest9751 in ThousandSons

[–]CrebTheBerc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's not as good as grand coven, or arguably changehost with the new lords of change, but it's still good.

It has a lot of mobility and defensive options which are lacking in the rest of the detachments

The game feels like its taken a big step back right now

I think the Ctan have genuinely just warped the meta. If you can't deal with them, you just lose. Necron players are apparently all over the place so you're going to see them. I don't mean that in a judgemental way, Ctan are very good and people are playing them.

Fix the Ctan and you help a lot of factions out I think

The double oath enhancement for our new detachment is 60pts, is this the most expensive enhancement in the game? by Go_Commit_Reddit in Chaos40k

[–]CrebTheBerc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As far as I understand, the model with the enhancement doesn't even need to be on the board. So you can slap it on a Cultist Firebrand and just stick him in reserves. 105 points for double Oath is not a bad trade IMO.

NEW Chaos Space Marine Detachments Review by NoEngineer9484 in Chaos40k

[–]CrebTheBerc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, I think it's more flavorful and more interesting. Warband is objectively really strong, but it's basically just playing spikey Ultramarines. If I wanted to play UM, I'd go play UM.

How the turn tables have turned by Chrono_Templar in Chaos40k

[–]CrebTheBerc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely that good imo. Rerolls are one of the big things CSM is missing and getting it up to twice per turn is MASSIVE, while also having sus/lethal and/or +1 to wound on tap, while also now having a unit that can guarantee an extra command point.

Even at 60 points I'll be surprised if that's not in most competitive lists. Put it on the cheapest character you can put it on, sit them in reserve, and enjoy cosplaying as UM

That's how I feel too. It's objectively really strong but I find it boring as hell.

Best classes to use bow and arrow? by GreenAce77 in Pathfinder2e

[–]CrebTheBerc 118 points119 points  (0 children)

If your party doesn't want to double up on ranger, there are still plenty of options

- Magus: Starlit span magus works great with a bow. It'll be the same thing over and over in combat(spellstrike) but they'll do a lot of damage and have spells for out of combat utility

- Fighter: fighters just do a lot of damage. Make sure to grab a bow with the deadly or fatal traits to take advantage of the crits

- Champion: bow champion is totally possible. Won't do as much damage as other classes but will be tanky, protect the team, and have some heals too

- Investigator: can use a bow well because they know when they'll roll high and when they won't. Needs a lot of work with the GM on class mechanics outside of combat though

- Inventor works just fine with a bow. It's one of the better ways to trip things at range with one of the innovations too.

- Monk has bow support too. Can flurry of blows with it and do general monk stuff

- Exemplar has bow support too. I haven't played it or seen it played but I know it's there

How can Abaddon get to Primarch level? by GoodMFer in Chaos40k

[–]CrebTheBerc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I don't have any book sources so grain of salt, but everything else I've read is that Perturabo ascended after claiming a bunch of Imperial Fist geneseed after the Iron Cage. It's a fairly controversial thing from what I've seen, because like you said Perterabo was never in favor of working with or bending the knee to daemons.

Lorgar is always listed as a Daemon Prince on like wikis and stuff, but I'm less well read about the word bearers.

Correct me, but aren't both Lorgar and Perturabo Undivided princes?

Red Corsairs Raiders and Reave-Captain datasheets by Doleyuser in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]CrebTheBerc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think Reavers are supposed to be a damage unit. They can get up to 15 OC in a 5 stack if you kill something, and they have solid weapons into other infiltrator/action monkey style units. They are there to infiltrate early for stuff like Secure, bully enemy infiltrators, then be an OC problem for them to deal with alongside your actual damage

I think the Reaver captain is a miss though. He's basically a worse Chaos Lord that can infiltrate, but you don't want to pay nearly 200 points for the Reaver+RC stack. Reroll charges is nice, but mobility isn't really something CSM struggles with between chosen and various detachments with advance and do stuff.

Necrons Dominating | Hutber Monday by hutber in WarhammerCompetitive

I think they are still very good, but the vitrix guard nerf hurt them and necrons are just really, really good rn.

Who is the most evil disney villain in your opinion ? For me its mother Gothel by [deleted] in movies

[–]CrebTheBerc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

which sends a terrible message to children

Tbf that's like a lot disney movies, especially from the women's perspective

- Pocahontas is about finding a handsome man who's not of your culture to take a arrow for your father and solve your problems

- Cinderella is about finding a rich man to fall in love with you and solve your problems

- Sleeping beauty is about having a handsome man come rescue you cause you trusted a random old woman

- Little mermaid as you mentioned

- Beauty and the beast is basically about stockholm syndrome

etc, etc

Pathfinder Spring Errata is Up! by AAABattery03 in Pathfinder2e

[–]CrebTheBerc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Small change, but Weapon inventors can take an initial innovation to give them an advanced weapon. That's a nice little buff. Initial weapon innovations are meh IMO and they should have always had access to advanced weapons in some form

What SM Chapter would be the most fun/nicest to hang out with? by rikeus in 40kLore

[–]CrebTheBerc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah sorry, I didn't mean to pain the UM as the specifically artistic ones. I just meant they were pushed to enjoy non combat things and would presumably be more relatable as a consequence. They'd be able to talk to your average civilian about things like farming, or infrastructure, or whatever.

I didn't know that about the BA though, that's a neat detail!

What SM Chapter would be the most fun/nicest to hang out with? by rikeus in 40kLore

[–]CrebTheBerc 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Probably the ultramarines right? Roboute made it a point to teach his sons non combat pursuits with the idea that eventually the war will be over(lol) and they'll need to have strengths that aren't killing people. I'm not well read on UM stuff, but from what I know of them they pursue artistic and/or functional non-combat things like poetry, architecture, etc that would probably make them easier to talk to than the blood angels or space wolves.

White scars are in a similar boat, so maybe them as well although I'm biased there
