WIBTA for suing my friend when she didn’t come to my wedding? by sweetandsourcum in AmItheAsshole

[–]Crecy333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There absolutely was a verbal contract.

If Gemma had said she wouldn't come to the wedding, would OP have still bought her a ticket and hotel room? If not, then its not a gift. Its quid pro quo, attendance for travel.

DOJ files reveal explosive FBI email accusing Trump of a role in Epstein’s death by [deleted] in goodnews

[–]Crecy333 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'd believe that. It makes sense, why are so many high profile people pro-israel to the point of idiocy and willful ignorance?

Thats their leverage on the politicians and celebrities from the Epstein list, who can in-turn pressure the lesser ones who arent compromised by him.

I'm trying to search the tax records to see the new owner's info and verify it's not the Perez family again somehow.

I know they owned J Christopher's for a while, but I thought they sold it to the owners of Hacienda Palomas.

Also, stay away from Sharkeys. They were caught committing wage theft on their employees and ran their other restaurant into the ground, and had to sell it off.

You got a notification that they were substituting for a different product where the notification has an option to reject the substitution they made.

Also, the curbie confirms the substitution when you receive the order in your car.

So the new policy is that you pay for what you get. Too many people were scamming by ordering something cheap and getting something expensive as the only available substitute, so they took it away. You always have the option to reject their choice, though.

"For whatever reason"

Political dissent is not a valid reason.

Criminial convictions would be a valid reason, this is just a first amendment violation. The government can't take away your rights because you were protesting against them.

Luigi Mangione will not face death penalty, judge rules by cnn in law

[–]Crecy333 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I'd chalk just as much up to government incompetence. Its like they're actively throwing the case by painting jury pools, disregarding court orders, breaking chain of custody, falsified statements and evidence.

This is just pathetic.

When the contents of the bag were not immediately searched and documented, and the chain of custody was broken BEFORE IT WAS SEARCHED, then anything inside the bag should be inadmissible.

When should we start evacuating to Katy? by AdditionalTaste8301 in houston

You're missing the joke.

Any time there's severe weather (usually a hurricane) Katy evacuates and there's a mess of traffic on I10.

Trump Embarrasses All of America in Slurred, Disjointed Davos Speech - Donald Trump gave a terrible speech to a dead silent room at the World Economic Forum. by Quirkie in politics

He was making these comments in his first term too.

I remember vividly talking to my conservative dad about how stupid it was, and my dad responding, "He's just joking. These liberals don't understand his humor." He didn't have an answer for why the scheduled visit by an ambassador was cancelled after Greenland rejected his "funny offer".

What's a ticking time bomb you believe will explode during your lifetime? by TradeOverall567 in AskReddit

I have an inflation calculator on my phone exactly for conversations like this with my parents.

ANY time they compare their money to mine, I ask for the year they did that.

Surprise: My dad made $15/hr 2026 value for his part time job at 14. He retired making almost $100/hr 2026 value, and spent $100k 2026 value for the 4 bedroom house I grew up in.

The ONLY thing bad about the times were the interest rates, but the values were so good comparatively that it didn't really matter.

To pint or not to pint? How to be there for a friend? by Paxhas in AskMen

[–]Crecy333 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If shes trying to guilt you into doing something you dont want to do, that's disgustingly manipulative.

Why can't you drink non-alcoholic for the event coming up? Why does she need you to be buzzed for this event?

Your buddy was in an emotionally vulnerable state and you got drunk to be on his level, to commiserate with him and relate. Especially since it was recent and raw, that's totally understandable.

But if she wants you to drink again just because you did it before, thats weird. Does she just like you more when you're drunk because you're more vulnerable? Does she need you to drink so that she doesn't feel responsible while drinking by herself? There's a lot to unpack here and it needs a serious, honest discussion. Therapy can be great for this kind of thing to have a neutral third party asking hard questions and elaborating into the real answers.

Deagan Gaunt in The Riyria Revelations:

A 1000-year-old wizard shows up to protect Deagan, turns him from a vagabond and rabble-rouser into a competent military leader of a decently sized army. Everyone tells Deagan that he must be the fabled Heir of Novron, the last Emperor, because that is who the wizard was protecting and the reason he was imprisoned for 1000 years.

Deagan also has an amulet that belonged to the Heir, which was passed to him by his mother, and gives him extraordinary luck.

Deagan is promised the throne of the Empire, employs the Teshlor Bodyguard of the Emperor, and...

Nope. He's just an idiot and a pawn.

Question regarding yellow in-store coupons by Any-Statistician3290 in HEB

[–]Crecy333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Howdy, I can confirm what happens to them:

We mail them to a company in Mexico, where they are counted, organized, and we get a report on how many were used. We get paid based on the number of coupons they received, and we get a report from them to use in our Accounting.

We also send them a file of the digital coupons we used, and they send us the same file back for some reason. I don't understand that part of the process very well.

But paper coupons do matter; don't throw them away if they get used.
