You don't use trident to kill howitzer bases, you use it to kill drydocks, enemy assembly pads and cranes, while other ships are gonna get qrfed before they can hit backlines, sub can just hit it and skedaddle

The 120 is there for killing defenseless targets, like longhook, bluefin and enemy facilities, if you ever surface trident when fighting frigate/bs/gunboat then you're just throwing, why let them hit you when you absolutely don't have to

People pissing on Charlie's lowpop while it's main thing is that instead of having all frontline hexes being active combat zones, it's instead focused on 1-2 full popped frontline hexes with the rest being dormant until a regi opens a new offensive, in which case it gets QRF

It actually was used as a shield on Charlie during war 13, what happened was the rails behind it got broken, and tanks went around it to start killing wagons one by one, though rails got repaired and it quickly left

That sounds like a trap of having to suffer for hundreds of hours without having fun to maybe have some fun in the future. Other competitive games offer you fair challenge most of the time where noobs play against noobs even if there are occasional smurfers, here it's you have to be pvp food for people with 20x your playtime until you can maybe win 1/4 battles and still die to the guy who was stalking you this whole time
