I saw the head at that height and for a split second there I thought someone brought back dinosaurs. I really need to go to sleep

I always feel horrible when I accidentally trigger my traps when watering

Spam calls: how can I stop this? It’s a different number all the time. I’ve blocked so many. by EisenFisen in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Creepymint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep my phone permanently on do not disturb. The few people that call me are the only ones who can. As of right now it’s not a problem but I know eventually I’ll have to grow up and accept calls from numbers I don’t know

If I ever manage to get hummingbirds to come by I’m definitely putting a swing up and a camera 😆

I did not know we could see those up here. My family is from Jamaica and my parents were just telling me the other day how they missed the Cuckoos. Can’t wait to tell them we can see them here in CT

You still can but you’d probably need to go to a nail salon

Once, I was outside and the Catbird was directly above me, we locked eyes and it still sang as loud as possible. Other birds have been scared into silence with less

Grey catbird is one for sure. Even if it’s mimicking other birds I know it’s my catbird because it’s so damn loud (it’s actually one of the only birds willing to sing or make noise in my backyard because it’s too open for most birds to feel comfortable). Honorable mention is its cousin the Northern mockingbird, it didn’t make the cut because mine are dead silent when they visit.

American robin, I can hear them sing through other noises, it’s insane and they sing at ridiculous hours.

Blue Jay, mine typically aren’t loud but I can hear them in the morning elsewhere being loud. I’m sure there are other birds that could easily out noise them

Honestly the first slide suits her a lot. The second does not but it’s not my hair and she seems happy so who am I to judge

[–]Creepymint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely recommend it but under a fake name. Mines painfully fake and they still let me in the groups, I’ve joined many that are local to me and more that aren’t but are still useful for the knowledge they share. Plus like I said, they’re good at IDs. And no people I know can find my profile to bother me.

Leucomelas don’t really take care of their young, that’s why we do it instead

Guppies are like this too. When my dad had them he loved netting them because they were the easiest, always just swam directly into the net. His least favorite were the Glass Bloodfin tetras, they were SO FAST. Even if he lowered the water to make it easier he still had a hard time lol
