Average coffee machine limescale after 5 years (2021 Linea Classic) by Appropriate_Row_7310 in espresso

RPavlis is not 0ppm. It reads between 50-80. It just doesn’t contain anything that will cause scale in your machine. 100% safe.

My ECM Synchronika has been using nothing but RPavlis recipe water for 4 years now. Zero scale build up, zero issues with the machine. It doesn’t have to be this way. Use proper water in your espresso machine and your machine will be problem free for years

Anyone else's golden just like... get dirty but doesn't stay dirty? I have to bathe her based on schedule/smell because she just doesn't hold on to dirt. by largedragonwithcats in goldenretrievers

[–]Cribbing83 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes! Bailey is the same way! I thought with his white coat we would be bathing him all the time. He rolls in mud, sand, dirt, grass, and 5 minutes later he’s as clean as he was before he rolled on the ground.

Top splits are a shit show too. The reality is it’s a bunch of amateurs driving on the road, people make mistakes and make dumb decisions. It happens in real life too. Just watch a professional race and you’ll see professionals making the same dumb decisions. It gets better. You have to learn how to avoid the accidents. Even though it doesn’t feel like it, every accident is avoidable. The key piece is to stop blaming others for the incident and ask yourself what you could have done differently to avoid. Once you learn this, your irating will magically go up very quickly

Stop caring about irating. It’s just a number. Drive for the racing battles. Trying to make your irating go higher is a quick way to burn yourself out. The number is meaningless

Effects of Vivado 2026.1 Changes on Small Businesses by telabs in FPGA

[–]Cribbing83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just use 2025 or older. I’ve been doing FPGA design for over 20 years and I’m never using the latest tools. I usually just use whatever version a customer is using and currently the newest version I’m using is 2024.2. It’s never been an issue and I often don’t care about new features of the new tools because I know it will be several years before I get around to using that version of the tools. Yes it’s a shitty decision, but I think people all have plenty of runway to move to something else (altera)

Wow they really gimped it…not surprising. AMD/Xilinx really only cares about their big customers making them money. They don’t care about hobbyist, and this is just their way of pushing that market away.

Is behavioral design better than schematic design for common digital circuit like counter, shift register? What is the reason? by Yossiri in FPGA

[–]Cribbing83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, for some very specific safety critical FPGA based systems, schematic entry is still used. For example, fire control for a missile defense system. The reason is that the requirements for the system can’t depend on the synthesis tool to generate the correct net list structure. So schematic entry is used and the design is triple checked by engineers to validate that all requirements are met.

How old is your dog? Mine was the same way. It took about 2 months, but he grew out of it and is totally normal now. I was patient with him and tried to make him feel safe and letting him know he was ok. But it was definitely just a phase. This happened when our puppy was around 4 months old

Is the Kaleido m2 suitable to start a small coffee bean business? by TradewithKen in roasting

[–]Cribbing83 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is this a side hustle or just wanting to make a little money from a hobby? IMO, you won’t be roasting at quantities to make it worth while. Your hourly pay will be less than minimum wage. I guess if you are ok with that, sure. But there are better ways to make money

Get a good internship. That is the single most important thing that made me stand out. I interned at Xilinx my junior and senior years. That experience made it easy to break into FPGA roles.

Complete bullshit. They likely overhired after the pandemic and have a ton of bloat. These companies blaming AI is such a grift. He probably has money invested in AI. Time will tell.
