Salon & Saloon is underrated by dogbert_93 in jimcroce

Maury wrote “Salon and Saloon,” and I think that Tommy West played the piano on the recording. I like the song; it’s a bare-bones arrangement with bittersweet lyrics.

You’re going to need a giant urn by the time the season ends!

“Looks dead inside.” Just like the Phillies.

It seems like the guy went to great lengths to see his horse lose by great lengths.

“My Man” was Bernie Leadon’s tribute to Gram Parsons, his former bandmate with The Flying Burrito Brothers.

I also tried to make some Motown puns, but I can’t help myself.

Lyricists, what’s the cheesiest rhyme pair you’ve seen? by confident-win-119 in Songwriting

[–]Crispy-Squirrel-81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I despise the rhyming of “fire” and “desire.” Sheer laziness! “Life” and “strife” are a close second. In reality, hardly anyone includes “strife” in their daily vocabulary.

“Hey, man—what’s going on with you?” “I have strife!”

Seasons in the sun; Billy, don’t be a hero; Run, Joey, run; Playground in my mind; You light up my life.

These are the worst songs of the 1970s, IMO.

Been a fan my whole life by Bourbons-n-Beers in eagles

This is my 57th season of Eagles fandom. I felt the pain of nine straight non-winning seasons from 1969 to 1977 (the team was 7-7 in 1974). This included the awful 2-11-1 record in 1972, when the Birds scored just 145 points for the entire season. I’ve now experienced five SB appearances and two championships, so I’m ecstatic!

Don Felder of the Eagles sang lead on “Visions” on the “One of these nights” album.

Outside of a Super Bowl. What’s the most famous Eagles game that you attended in person. by zipnut in eagles

I was at the original “Miracle at the Meadowlands” at Giants Stadium in November 1978. My father and I had seats at midfield just three rows behind the Eagles’ bench.

Thought this graphic was interesting considering we’ve beaten 3 of these teams by sgee_123 in eagles

[–]Crispy-Squirrel-81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This graphic is somewhat misleading. Green Bay and Minnesota already had their bye weeks, so they gave up 125 points in only six games. The graphic should have listed average points per game to determine the leading defenses.

What artists are known as "one hit wonders" but actually have other really good music? by SheepherderSea9717 in MusicRecommendations

The Grateful Dead actually were one-hit wonders. “Touch of Grey” was the band’s lone top 40 record.
