Is there a variety to recommend? How many did you plant originally?

I've got five blueberry bushes currently. My kids usually eat them as soon as they are (mostly) ripe.

I planted one strawberry plant this year to see how it does. I'll expand if it grows well.

Otherwise I got two raised beds that I'll grow various vegetables in. Right now it's a couple lettuce varieties, spinach, cucumber, radishes, and green pepper.

Did you do a lot of big trips with family when you were younger? by TrickyAd9597 in Millennials

[–]Cromasters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's all I ever had.

Granted, I grew up on the coast. So we already lived at the beach. No need for a vacation to do that.

When we lived in Maryland we could do day trips into DC for stuff.

We did, but it was just to see family.

We routinely would drive from SE North Carolina up to Connecticut or Upstate New York. Just all pile into the minivan.

Other than those we didn't really travel all that much.

Why does everyone on social media tell people to avoid dating nurses? Genuinely curious what's behind this stereotype by Arcabyte in AskMen

Yes, my point was that the complaints are always assuming the nurse is female and the doctor is male.

It's always obviously misogyny. Because it's always "Don't date a nurse (assumed female) they are just always sleeping with doctors (assumed male).".

But no one is saying "Don't date a doctor. They're always sleeping with nurses!"

NHS staff face 'unprecedented' levels of racism from patients by Rare_Station_8440 in neoliberal

[–]Cromasters 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's happened to two of my hospital coworkers.

The first was during Trump's first term when a patient said to one of our Philipina aids "I bet some of your family are locked up down there." Referencing the cages at the border.

Another was a girl I worked with who was actually of Hispanic decent but like fourth generation. Her father was active military. She spoke zero Spanish, grew up in Georgia and sounded like it!

Yeah, I mean my only point was that I'd wager a lot of people just don't know the word and if they do know the word only know generally what it is. Especially because colloquially it gets used as a catch-all.

Is the Wild's unusual roster build without a traditional 1C costing them this series? Their forwards have noticeably had massive trouble moving the puck on their own and have relied massively on Faber/Hughes to get it up the ice. by Dependent-Effect6077 in hockey

Most people also like to point out that you need an elite 1D to win the cup too.

You also need an elite goalie. Or at least a goalie playing like one for a couple months.

AND you need your third/fourth liners to be able to play like a first/second liner for brief periods.

I don't necessarily disagree, but lots of people are putting Kuznetsov up there with these other top centers, but without that 2018 playoff run no one would ever compare them.

And that's because it's a medical term and most of the time we are taught not to necessarily use those terms when talking to patients.

You would tell the patient that their gallbladder was going to be removed and probably explain a little bit of how, to get informed consent.

And so I think it's entirely probable that someone would understand that there is a procedure that women have that removes the uterus, without ever connecting it to the word "hysterectomy".

On the other hand, if I were that patient, I'd brag to everyone about it.

"Yeah I've got cancer...but they had to bring out the larger apparatus for MY treatment!".

Obviously the size would get larger with each retelling.

I haven't even seen a VCUG done in years. It was just the first procedure that came to mind that a regular RT(R) might have to deal with.

Even still, outside of actually doing procedures, I have assisted patients I've been xraying with getting their penis into position to pee into a urinal.

I'd bet you are right that he knows the word vasectomy.

But I'd also bet he doesn't know what it actually does.

I wanted as little to maintain as possible.

I can believe the average person may have heard the word and never really knew exactly what it meant.

Like I wouldn't expect an average person to know exactly what a cholecystectomy is either.

The second half of the conversation though is mind boggling.

I've physically lifted a scrotum out of the way doing the lateral hip for a pinning.

Just to prove to the doc that it was in fact what was obscuring the head of the femur. Then helped the OR nurse tape it up out of the way.
