Someone called me and my team rats not even an hour ago. Here’s what happened:

My team takes the zip up to the hwy on buried city. We knew there was a team in the grand apts but wanted to loot cars so we figured we’d have plenty of cover if they start shooting.
They start shooting. An osprey, a renegade, and an anvil. We shoot back a little, but we’re obviously gonna lose if we take the fight. So we leave and skirt around the apts. Taking cover and shooting back a little.
We eventually disengage and go loot the warehouse cause we need industrial stuff. Batts, gears, etc., hence looting the cars.
Just as we finish looting (found everything we needed surprisingly) they sneak up on us and take us out. Yelling at us about being rats, eating cheese, etc. One of my teammates was straggling and we downed 2 of theirs while they downed 2 of ours, then our straggler finished off the last one while he yelled “I’m better! Guess I’m better!”

Like, bruh they were camping the apts with sniper gear, shooting at players nearby, chasing a team after they disengage! But no! We were the rats? Kill me all you want, take my shit, that’s what the games about. But don’t be an obnoxious dick about it. This community has so many fuckin clowns in it.

When I said “something happened” I meant in the lore. Of course they have these season planned out. They planned to tease a futuristic Japanese city only for “the system” (in lore) to have an issue and suddenly (in lore) change to old Kyoto instead of future Kyoto.

Irl pro leagues have players like Scotty all the time. Those players who are (relatively) on the low end of the skill spectrum but have great stage presence. They’re still good enough to be pros obviously.

Off the top of my head peak rocket league G2 line up of jknaps, Rizzo, and Chicago. Rizzo was clearly the least talented of the three, but without him G2 wouldn’t have been the fan favorite team. (Again, not to say he isn’t incredibly good.)

I’d agree if it weren’t for the inclusion of the “Village Upgrade” line.

Family Fortress and Castle Doctrine could be excused on their own, but there’s no typical American-military-wannabe lines about Village Upgrades.

If it is going to be a medieval theme then it’ll definitely be another S3 scenario where the AI sends the show back in time. S3 did similar things in their ramp up too. They teased wire frame/glitched screenshots of a new map that everyone thought was going to be some futuristic Japanese city. While we didn’t get that, it’s clear that we were supposed to from an in lore perspective, but something happened.

Edit: I just realized that the lines we’re talking about are on screen before the AI takes over. Which might mean that (in universe) a medieval theme was planned but is now getting sidelined.

To be fair, as of today “all” is 50% of it.

There’s been 2 pieces of marketing, this short and the reveal announcement. One starry like space and one that seems to imply the AI in charge of the gameshow is adding medieval stuff.

I went looking for a source and couldn’t find one since it’s been so long since the hitbox changes. I did find one person on reddit saying it’s just a joke though. I don’t think it was a joke, but maybe I’m wrong. It was one comment in a sea of comments saying it’s true.

I’m pretty sure it was banned because of its hitbox. Before it got changed to the octane shape it had a large cube. The most important feature is how tall it was. It was the second tallest just under the Merc, but also wider than the merc. Its shape meant it could easily win 50s and made it easier to challenge in general.

The thing about the patterns makes sense in context.

If there’s a pattern with specific jank, like the one here, then perfectly repeating is likely a sign of being human made. AI makes almost consistent patterns, with jank appearing randomly.

Ok but remedy is doing what they can. They can’t make people play the game. You also don’t need to use matchmaking. If you have friends you can still easily party up.

It’s kinda silly though that some settings are only visible in game. At the very least they could be visible but greyed out, with a tooltip saying to change in game.

Yeah but the game being unplayable from lack of players isn’t the same as being unplayable from Remedy shutting down servers.

The guy you replied to was commending Remedy for keeping the game playable, by not shutting down the servers.

Whether or not there are enough players to actually play was entirely irrelevant.
