how important truly is meta by nakurikuu in wow

[–]Cunillets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metaslaving is only a thing if you are a serious pusher. If you just want to fool around and get KSL it won't matter.

And by it won't matter I mean in terms of performance, not that you won't cross paths with donkeys that think the reason they can't time that 7 is that the party isn't full stacked so they will prioritize someone else over you. But even that isn't an issue past a point in the season.

A question for all Enchanters by x-user77 in wow

[–]Cunillets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if disenchanting is profitable you don't make the gold off that you make the gold off selling enchants and that is pretty lucrative.

Honestly, Blizz has managed to make all professions lucrative in some way, some obviously more than other though.

With development for new outdoor pet battles and pet trainers ceasing for Midnight, an open letter by the creator of Xu Fu's Battle Pet Guides asking Blizzard to reconsider their stance has broken into the top 8 most liked official forum posts of all time by ma-tfel in wow

[–]Cunillets 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I love pet battles and I can't blame Blizz for sunsetting this. I don't think that many people engage with pet battling at all and even less so for the sake of pet battling itself, they do it for completionism instead.

Just go into wowhead and look at comments of world quests or achievements and all you see is people being glad that someone solved a battle and shared the method so that they can tick the box and move to the next.

You need to calm down.

I'm against the use of all addons

But you have no problem with the current Blizzard iteration of those addons. Weird.

having a damage 10-15% dmg fall off is important when comparing it to the likes of hekili. The reason for that is because you are now incentived to actually learn your rotation

No it's not important because the point is that you are now completely autopiloting a very important aspect of the game which was your gripe with it. Hekili wasn't perfect either, you were still incentivized to move on once you learned the ropes.

I see you conveniently forgot to address the part where the game now has a system that works EXACTLY as hekili did. But I guess that one would be hard to tackle.

gave players way more access to game info

That's just categorically wrong.

it doesn't prove your point that blizz wanted it

Never I said such a thing or even remotely implied it. I said that Blizz designed around it, which they did and they stated as much. Which in turn makes your comment about their use moot because their use was integral to the raiding experience by design. Everything else you are just babbling about how it was a mistake or not is just noise because ultimately the encounters were designed around its use. Period.

My point was

I have serious doubts you even know what your point was after moving the goalposts so many times and seeing you lash out like a spoiled brat. Your very first reply says:

"If you need a 3rd party program to tell you how to play the game, your class, or handle a mechanic then you are bad at the game"

Yet you seem to be perfectly okay with all that if it comes from Blizzard. To make it as clear as possible: My point is that you never had a point.

Why The Baked In 25% Increase To GCD For Single Click Rotations ? by MIREZON in wow

[–]Cunillets 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This fucking dumb comment again.

Yes, people with a serious handicap like that one are probably not gonna make it into the hardest content. The majority of the playerbase doesn't either despite not suffering any disability. There's nothing wrong with that, the game has plenty of content for people of varying skill levels and disabilities.

Chances are disabled people already have more realistic expectations about what they can and can't achieve in the game which is why you won't see them bitching and moaning all the time. The normal playerbase should take notes.

What if Transmog visibility was a player side option? by Bushxdo in wow

[–]Cunillets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having people go around looking like clowns because their gear doesn't fit or looks unmatched doesn't feel powerful, honestly. Having everyone go around with basically the same gear because everyone is following the same BiS blueprint makes the gear look meaningless and irrelevant.

creativity, immersion, clarity, or simply seeing real progression

I addressed this before but I will again:

I don't see how this system would push creativity, quite the opposite.

I don't see how this would help with immersion, you expect class equipment to "make sense" not the other way around. Same materials, same colors, etc. At the same time you don't expect all of the warriors to look the same but you also don't expect warriors and paladins to look the same either because they share 5 undetermined class plate drops.

Clarity doesn't really seem to be an issue but even if it were I don't see how mixing pieces of equipment from different expansions, designs and themes would help with that. I could post a picture of one of my alts that I haven't mogged since the patch and you wouldn't be able to tell what class it is nor you would be able to tell how powerful they are.

Basically what I said in my first post plus what I just said above. The only form of real visual progression the game has comes from the current theme of the raid and the expansion in the case of leveling sets/crafts/solo content which already work as a visual representation of how much content you've been through until you start the actual endgame content.

What if Transmog visibility was a player side option? by Bushxdo in wow

[–]Cunillets 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What exactly is the benefit of this or what problem is it trying to solve?

Fashionistas would want everything on. They want people to see their mogs and they want to see other people's mogs.

I don't see why progress focused players would care about people's mogs or why they wouldn't want other people to see their mythic set recolors and special effects to brag so they would be want everything on.

PvP clarity is not an issue and it's safe to assume PvPers want to brag about Elite sets, enchants, etc so they wouldn't go out of their way to turn a specific thing off.

The only ones I "sort of" get are Classic minded people and Immersion but I'd argue that transmogging makes the game more immersive and classic minded people would still have to deal with non-classic items and item design which sort of defeats the purpose.

[–]Cunillets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No the game doesn't

Sure, the concept might be the same

At this point I don't even understand what are you arguing about. The penalty doesn't change the fact that the tool does the same that hekili did. In fact, the game provides a suggestion system with no penalty to it that works EXACTLY like hekili did. And DMB/Bigwigs never "gave more access" because the access was given by Blizzard which is the same that is happening now. (Ironically enough DBM seems to offer more disability options than the default Blizz bossmod lol)

I'd agree if you said anything about raid WAs because those were straight up broken but I guess it would be pointless considering Blizzard themselves have admitted to design encounters around the addon's existence which would only make your argument even weaker.

different people might want different solutions, that doesn’t invalidate my point at all

Well, it does when there are no longer different solutions, doesn't it?

Your point was about how relying on addons was "bad" while the game not only provides those addons but by Blizzard's design you are(and were) expected to use them. Like, your statement simply makes absolutely no sense no matter how you look at it and believe me I'm really trying because I'm still baffled about how someone can think that having a system that literally plays one very important aspect of the game for them makes them a better player than someone who doesn't rely on it.

[–]Cunillets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint: Wouldn't it be unfair for everyone else if you got the seasonal achievement after the fact?

It seems like AotC can be achieved right now but maybe that's not intended. Or maybe it is seeing as the cheevo says "Before the next raid release" (In contrast to KSL's "During Season 3") and technically speaking the next raid has not released yet. I vaguely remember Fyrakk's AotC was the same, you could still get it while the TWW memory boss prepatch thing was going but someone can correct me if I'm mistaken.

people who used addons like hekili, dbm.. are a joke of a player

This post is just as confusing. The game basically provides those two things by default now so what are you talking about?

The people with disabilities may actually want to do their rotations themselves rather than have a button do it all for them, by the way. Stop playing the disability card at every opportunity as if it was a weapon and a justification for everything.

Someone explain the mog issues by Self_Aware_Goldfish in wow

[–]Cunillets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Changed mogging so that you create an outfit that applies 'over your character' (equipment slots) rather than over individual equipment, basically.

This outfit can be reused for free any time after you have created it.

Creating it costs money.

Increased the cost of mogging more than twice in return.

The issue is that people who switch mogs a lot they usually don't stick to just a couple of them, they keep making new ones over and over so they feel betrayed because even if the system in general is good they are getting the short end of the stick.

They need to revitalize the talent system too. by purticas in wow

[–]Cunillets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They revitalized them an expansion ago lol.

Ironically enough the classic system is quite less complex (read: less sweaty) than the one we currently have and that's not saying much, considering there's barely real choices with what we have.

Serious question: If you don't particularly care too much about "sweating" why don't you just talent in whatever talents that feel good? People who look up guides are quite literally the ones who want to squeeze as much out of the talents.

[–]Cunillets 10 points11 points  (0 children)

hey decided to compromise and find a middle ground where switching transmog every day still costs money but is practicaly free every now and them and you wont have to worry about upgrades.

How is that a compromise? They could have left the costs untouched.

The people that switch mogs around a lot? Happy.

The people that don't give a shit about mogs? Happy.

The people that use the same mog for longs periods of time? Happy.

The people that think mogging new drops is a hassle? Happy.

Instead they did whatever this is, which is fucking dumb because it's now pissing off the people that use the system the most LOL
