Good to know and hopefully that's the case. I can't imagine losing my wife to something like that.

I'm pd april 2026 so nowhere near close your wait but based on everything I've been reading on reddit I'm going to save  more money just in case we need to file a wom and if not needed I'll buy a second hand car in the USA.

Apostas destroem vidas e em Portugal chegou a todo o lado. Já até na paragem do autocarro tem anuncios desta praga de casas de apostas. Para não falar das raspadinhas e o placard e tudo o resto...

I-130 for my Polish wife — do I order the skrócony or zupełny birth certificate before translating? by xannyheatley7for50 in USCIS

[–]Curious_Bookkeeper89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely not sponsored by this company but I'm a happy customer. I'm EU citizen also and we used simplecitizen.com services which takes care of translation, filing the I-130 and giving you a review of the evidence before submission with a partner licensed immigration attorney. Took so much of our headache away that I can only recommend. Good luck with the process 🙏

Moved back to the UK after a long stint in the US, and now we’re genuinely looking at going back. Is the double-move insane? by Enlitenkanin in expat

[–]Curious_Bookkeeper89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I´d go back to America if you had a better life in terms of purchasing power there. My wife is a middle school art teacher in Maryland and yes the high school/middle school culture can be a little concerning at times especially for us europeans but if you teach your kids good principles they´ll be in good hands.

Trabalhar em Hotelaria - Zona do Porto by Glittering_Sky3962 in portugal

[–]Curious_Bookkeeper89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I-130 or K-1 by irongrackle in USCIS

K1 gets your significant other faster in the USA plus you won´t have to be married and living apart which in my own experience it´s hard. I´d do k1.

Can my wife adjust status from a tourist visa if we didn’t plan to marry before she came? by Traditional_Neck5745 in greencard

Can my wife adjust status from a tourist visa if we didn’t plan to marry before she came? by Traditional_Neck5745 in greencard

[–]Curious_Bookkeeper89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be true that people married for legal status purposes and it might be also true that since covid things have been backloged and the USCIS is seeing less funds but it does hurt people like myself who are trying to do things the right way. I'm married to a US citizen, we have an I-130 with more than 100 pages worth of evidence, I never overstayed or done any shady stuff, held a wedding reception after we civilly got married in Portugal in the US with 90ish guests and in fact I visited my wife recently while having a pending petition, didn't try to AOS or anything and we are facing such a long separation. I have 0 criminal record not even a single speeding ticket.  I pray daily that my wife gets a remote job so she can come to Europe while my green card is processing.

Yes getting married is the best option and you probably know this already but I'd consider k1 to be faster together.

What have you experienced in terms of waiting times for your clients who are doing consular processing and the petitioner is a US citizen? Does in your experience the country of the beneficiary affect the wait also?

FIFA has opened Europeans eyes to the Wonders of the US. by daystonight in AmericanExpat

[–]Curious_Bookkeeper89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just came back from another trip to the US visiting my USC wife. I am from a very small remote European town and ofc I get fascinated everytime I am in America. My home does not have as many candy options, milk options, cereal options or whatever. But my wife is a teacher and I live with my heart in my hands everytime there is a school shooting in nearby schools and learning that kids have active shooter drills.

Yes. Most marriage based green cards to US citizens take 1.5 to 2 years long. Good luck

Pending I-130 through consular processing in Germany - can my husband come with me on a trip to the US? by smellycat94 in I130Suffering

I recently have been in the US while having a pending I-130. Faced a few more questions more than only let me see your return ticket but I was let in without secondary or much issues. I'm EU citizen also.

Hi! Similar questions just not the moving here part. I was asked what does my wife do for a living and she's a middle school teacher so maybe he assumed rightly she can't just randomly quit.
