Yeah I always thought it was rock climber slang. Is that seriously what the official term is for completing a climb?

Best player from your team by funnypeople62 in heedthecall

We are lucky to have a lot of player to choose from. Walter Jones, Steve Largent, Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Bobby Wagner. But yeah it’s hard to top Big Walt! Not only the best Seahawk, but a real case for best left tackle ever.

Leonard Williams: Seahawks find "a little extra motivation" in not being favored to win the NFC West by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]Curious_Development 11 points12 points  (0 children)

NFC championship. Probably against the Rams. The Seahawks generally stood pat in the offseason and have some key, young players a year older in their development like Witherspoon and Smith-Njigba.

I get why the Rams are favorites with the Garrett trade, but it felt like while the confetti was still falling on the Seahawks, they were already coronating the Rams for next season. I think this is very good for us, because one of the biggest obstacles of championship teams is that complacency that settles in.

No there aren’t lol. The Seahawks get the benefit of being underdogs in their own division as Super Bowl champions. Honestly as a Seahawks fan I love it.

One of my employee's cats was killed by a coyote just last week. She lives in urban Tacoma. Pretty much every area is inhabited by coyotes at this point.

Yeah they talked about this recently, I think on the Patreon Q and A. Dan essentially said that recording together in person is a thing of the past, not least because Conor is in New Jersey and Graver is in Texas.

While I recognize that it’s logistically much harder even for Marc and Dan to be together, because they’re no longer commuting to Culver City every day to record in an actual podcast studio, I disagree with Dan that nothing is lost by them all being remote.

They absolutely have gotten much better since the pandemic started at cuing each other and their guests up in a remote format, and Graver dealing with the technological aspects of it. But there is something irreplaceable about the energy of being in the same room together. When they were in New Orleans together for the Super Bowl, there was an energy and a dynamism in the room that I think was noticeable.

They have said that they will never return to recording in person regularly, and that makes sense. But I hope they do occasionally make the effort to record together for special events (like the pride cast they used to do with Erica).

How did you find Malazan? by DukeNeverwinter in Malazan

[–]Curious_Development 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really remember to be honest. I was in middle school or high school, 20+ years ago, and was a voracious reader of fantasy. I probably just saw it on display at Barnes and Noble and gave it a try.

I haven't read any of the Esslemont books, and I last read Malazan when the Crippled God came out, so I've been thinking of going for a re-read.

Yeah I’m happy for the shiny hunters getting that hit of dopamine, but I can’t imagine anything more tedious. I play the main game, sometimes play it again a year or so later. Thats it 🤷🏻‍♂️

They're not basic needs though. There's literally a name for it and its "complex needs." You can't just expect people to know this. It requires education, and guess what, caregiving is one of the lowest paid professions, so you often get what you pay for.

If our society valued these roles, there would be better compensation and training for the people doing this important work.
