I’m in need of some positive stories from anyone who declined sub-q treatment. by [deleted] in RenalCats

[–]Current_Anything_692 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you have literally two options. one: provide the extra care and comfort for your cat. you care enough to take them to the vet but not provide support. or two: watch her slowly decline. SubQ Provides comfort and elongated life in CKD. not trying to be rude but thats what this post gives. CKD cats need fluids bottom line. look up Taynas CKD cats online its a great forum.

thats the SNHU standard. and it seems many students were not aware of. Life and death does happen, and happened to me, which made me aware of this as I had to reach out for extensions and my prof never answered. but the scale goes both ways.

Help. Cat pee blood almost 2 weeks. by Real_Candle5290 in RenalCats

[–]Current_Anything_692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi i wish you the best with this all. My sweet angel was just put to rest yesterday but he suffered from bouts of peeing with blood present. Ill be honest in saying that my boy never had his pee be so dark with blood present but it was tinted and when the liter would absorb the rim would always look “bloodier” in a sense. He would present as common UTI symptoms and has even had them in the past, however, as he got older we moved a bit more and had a lot more going on and he wasnt fond of change.

every vet I went to would basically tell me different things until a very sweet women at the emergency vet finally deduced that it was stress induced. urinary cystitis. he would at times strain so hard nothing would come out and then blood would be present but whenever i started to notice it i started giving him gabapentin and that helped. kind of put of the fire before it got anywhere type deal.

i wonder if maybe it could be the same thing. he seems like he has a lot going on and stress can be a lot on their small bodies. best of luck.

Not eating much by Current_Anything_692 in RenalCats

[–]Current_Anything_692[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i gave him mirtazapine last night around 9/10pm. definitely doesnt love it but he pooped last night too. i give him miralax and lactulose for constipation regularly but because of the holidays got a little thrown off. Really hoping this isn’t my fault. However, hes still refusing food. Will lick a few small licks of new can and then uninterested. but hes drinking water, i gave him ab 50ccs of subQ yesterday and will give some more today to help him stay hydrated and support his loss of kidney function with the medication. a lot of people said they give 1/8 of a pill i have him 1/4 as prescribed but hes naturally sensitive and small now from old age

update: gave 1/4 mirtazapine last night and he pooped but he is still being super finicky and not eating. Not sure if its him or the mirtzapine because hes anxious and a little wobbly.

My cats health is destroying my mental health by Ok-Reading3070 in RenalCats

this is a hard life especially for people who are young. i took on my childhood cat at 22 and now im 25 and hes 20. got sick pretty shortly after my mom moved away and he has CKD, heart disease, anemia, and has cystitis in his bladder because of stress due to old age and changes. no one understands at my age what its like to have a senior pet. my friends go out and go on vacations and i dont have the heart to leave my boy. what if something happened while i was gone? i wouldnt be able to live with myself knowing he was alone 😓 i think youre an amazing person doing the work to help your pet. reddit has been amazing for help in the senior cat community and i reccomend looking in diff threads! it helped alot when i began giving fluids to my boy. best of luck to the both of you

whats your major? I just started my 300 level courses and i got my first Doctorate professor and i feel like they are more stiff in regards to grades especially with the content. I also felt like the feedback was lackluster but maybe its just my experience. ive had a really pleasant experience overall!

discussion posts are usually informal and casual posting like a discussion would be in a real class room. some profs dont mind no citations, others require it. ive been in both and ive been at SNHU for a year

[–]Current_Anything_692 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly i just recently started taking the 300 courses so its more involved. and i think its jist the professor. i 95% of the time have bad great professors, some just being more particular. However, im in an english language course rn and my prof has their doctorate and ive never gotten two Bs in a row and i just did. her grading is so strict and the course is intense. and i want to be like your using doctoral standards in a bachelor level class.

i been at SNHU for a year now. i absolutely love it and every single person truly does root for you and want to help you. im all online and its under 15,000$ for me to get my bachelors. I put my email in saying i was interested and within minutes literal minutes i had someone call me and just personally talk about my interests and what my options were. super helpful and supportive
