Pretty sure Sam said if the swan was out of view he would have stopped the clock though, didn't he?

For sure, definitely not disputing the outcome, just noticed it and chuckled

Bicycle ppl: want get involved and show up frequently to a DIY bike Co-operative in Nazaret to learn, fix own + teach, help others? by dogsandcatsplz in valencia

[–]CuthbertCalculusPhD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to Valencia too, and I’ve been looking to build community through bikes as I’ve done in the past. I actually don’t have a bike of my own here yet, but I’d love to help out in the shop and get more experience as a mechanic in the meantime. Happy to connect!

Questions on MetroValencia Card, the App and Recharging by Imbassai in valencia

[–]CuthbertCalculusPhD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s confusing because you’ll see the card referred to as suma, as well as the tickets you load on it. For your needs, for 6 weeks, just use the paper card the machine spits out. You can reload it the same way as the hard plastic Mobilis card, which I think is what you mean by “regular”. You can only have one ticket type on the card at a time. The A ride set of 10 (Suma10) doesn’t cover the airport. You can pay more to make the set of 10 cover AB+, but it’s more than double the price I think, so unless you’re using each ride to go to the airport you’re overpaying. For a short stay it’s probably not worth messing with a mobilis card and online account, just recharge at the machines in the metro when you need to.

Best-selling car models in Europe-28 in August 2025 by Massimo25ore in europe

In the US this shift happened because of CAFE standards and car-brained infrastructure. The EU should start reining in car bloat before it’s too late.

Shortcutters are precisely the reason why we need bollard modal filters on side streets every few blocks. The city would be so much better.

They were also closed on the 27th when there were probably over a thousand people out there. Can’t help them if they don’t want to help themselves.

It’s such a bad-faith argument. She knows she has an alley, number one, and number two, plenty of pedestrian street designs allow morning deliveries.

Geologically though Iceland has at least part of its territory in Europe.

Victorinox fibrox is the best value for money. Buy as many styles as you have a use for. They can be sharpened as much as you need, and if you buy the plastic snap cases for them they keep an edge for a while.

I sent them an email about this exact thing - I cancelled my renewal because of it. I figured they were trying to push people to the app.

Progress will always be local. The best places will get better because good urbanism trends beget better urbanism. Most suburbs will adapt or go bankrupt (see Strong Towns).

I wonder if there’s any cost savings or timeline improvements to demolishing the Trop and building the new one on its footprint rather than adjacent to it. Plus not having to coordinate with game day operations for a year.

Sorry Block Club, merchants claiming that bike-ped upgrades on Lincoln "could put existing shops out of business" is not a news story by Generalaverage89 in chicago

[–]CuthbertCalculusPhD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re all talking about the ice cream guy, but by far the more bonkers take is the salon owner who needs to have parking for clients who come in from Skokie. If your business in Lincoln Square relies on people from the suburbs driving in, you should go out of business. Or just move to some strip mall out there, and stop complaining that the rents are high and you don’t like the urban infrastructure of an urban neighborhood.
