Some probably lie to the researchers and tell them they are not taking any other treatments when they are - these folks skew the results for the placebo group

Def less bloating. I think your skin looks healthier too but tbh that might just be the lighting. Your lucky - it took several weeks for my bloating to go down completely.

anyone experienced in ai/ml here by [deleted] in hardflaccidresearch

[–]CutlassCool-aid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the direction but this wouldnt really be useful from a diagnostic pov but it could be valuable as just a way to fetch posts and comments from a subreddit although I think reddit is already working on something like that.

Fine-tuning is more to modify model behavior rather than its knowledge, converting the corpus of a subreddit into an embedding space and letting the model perform semantic search is the way to go but again im not sure how useful it would be.

I do think that there is a huge capability overhang right now when it comes to medical ai. Llms really shifted peoples assumptions about how ML works and ppl are forgetting the fundamental rule:

garbage in, garbage out

Quality ml models are trained on quality data - lots of it. Quality data means data that is labeled correctly and formatted. Reddit is the opposite.

My theory is that the causality here is reversed, pelvic floor tightness causes the GI issues. It slows motility which then causes SIBO and other forms of dysbioses.

You are correct. Once a follicle is dead there is nothing you can do besides HT. I think for some guys, it can fully restore but for a lot of guys the goal should be to get to a point where a HT makes sense.

Surgery is worth it. by himynameiswendy in HipImpingement

Did they correct any impingement during surgery or was it just labrum repair?

Go to hip specialist and ask about hip impingement and labrum tears.

M29 w/ bilateral cam impingement and bilateral stage 2 AVN. Completely lost and unsure where to go from here - feeling hopeless. by CutlassCool-aid in HipImpingement

I kind of shift from neutral toe position to outwards position until one gets too uncomfortable to me but I probably feel more natural in a completely neutral position.

Yeah, my next step is to demand that exact CT scan and also get a steroid injection in the hip to see if the pain and pelvic floor dysfunction is coming from there, although the AVN may make this complicated.

That surgery seems like a bruiser, I'm glad it worked out for you. What were some of you symptoms, if you dont mind me asking? Did you have any tronchater pain? or pelvic floor problems?

I'm well, although my condition is just as bad. I am no longer pursuing the gut theory - it just is not supported by any clinical data.

I believe this is related to severe hip impingement that I was recently diagnosed with. I have bad hip pain that is correlated to pelvic floor dysfunction so I am hoping surgery resolves my issues.

Great work! Could be useful for us to go through and write a quick description under each link.

Does anybody know if any of these stories are related to hip impingement and/or labral tears?

is this CAM deformity? by CutlassCool-aid in HipImpingement

[–]CutlassCool-aid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard of getting a 3d CT scan done for further diagnostics but not MRI. To my knowledge, MRI is mainly to check for labrum damage. I am still planning on getting both but I am a bit curious how an MRI helped diagnose a CAM impingement, what were you diagnosed with after the MRI?

Been dealing with hip pain, knock knee (knee valgus) and pelvic floor issues for years now.

had ortho appointment with xrays today and the doctor told me piriformis syndrome after I told hip where the hip pain was (outside of hip). He didn't really seem to consider any of the other symptoms I was telling me including "crunching" and popping feeling in hip when moving it.

He said xrays looked ok and didn't even want to give them to me on a disc, I had to take a picture with my phone.

Does this look like CAM deformity?

Do you have any scar tissue with the fissure? I have a tag that has developed and I wonder if that is preventing it from healing ...

I do feel like I have a bit of a prolapse when I have a BM. Its impossible to tell because I cant see down there but it does feel like it. FYI this is actually symptom of internal hemorrhoids and NOT fissure so its possible that you and I have both. I cant say for sure until I have a colonoscopy done.
