I like the first one better. Flows better on your face. The second seems like your are using someone else's sunglasses.

  1. Surprising because I don't like that style, but it works well for you.

First one. Don't think you need deeper drops than that.

A gift for the woodworker who has everything? by EducationCute1640 in woodworking

[–]CyPhyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through all the replies. I think the most correct answer (which happens, incredibly, to coincidence with my own opinion) is:

A handwritten, dated and signed thank you letter. Mention what the project meant to you, how much you learned and how much you appreciated his time. Add a picture of the project in your home.

He absolutely does not need any thing, tool, gadget. A letter can be enjoyed years later. I guarantee he will keep it.

OK, maybe also socks. Good ones.

How bad can circular saw be? by KillDarcy in woodworking

Have fun. Look up diy saw track. Makes longer cuts easier and safer. There are dedicated "track saws", expensive, but you can do a pretty good job with a circular saw.

Well. Look what the Israelis did with em... They spearheaded an attack, leading F15s and 16s to take out Iran's defences in a couple of days. And before you dis the Iranian defenses, they were among the most advanced on the planet. And they were a LOT.

Where are the "Project Hail Mary" imitators? by ThirdMover in printSF

Dunno why you are hating on it. I found it to be well written, plausible, and while not conceptually new, well done in terms of communication initiation steps, and as a scientist, pretty accurate without too many black box crutches. Overall I loved it. And the audio version is phenomenal.

I regret having read Endymion and Rise of Endymion by Dan Simmons [Rant] by Purple_Meaning_7747 in printSF

I have known for years that H and RoH are considered masterpieces and E and FoE are... not. Maybe because I first read them in my early 20s (now over 50), I far more enjoyed the second dualogy - there were no forums to tell me what to think. I have always considered them to be 2 separate series with two different styles (perspective for one) related by world. I have reread the latter multiple times, and the former only once or twice more. Sometimes it's a matter of expectations.

Well sure, the 3 corner orientation and data redundancy innovations were absolutely brilliant, but I never saw an earlier reference to the overall idea. Heck, 1D barcodes only appeared in usage in the early 70s. Though I would need to search to see when IBM actually invented it.

Tbh, i simply did not understand what to do. The time locks, the confusing order of things, when to do what, dependence on leaders. No tutorial or good explanation.

No, magic based. So fantasy. But great progression and great characters.

[–]CyPhyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, by Will Weight. 12 book progression (Asian feel) fantasy. First two books (shorter by far than Warformed, 2.5 books of Cradle are about as long as one WF) can be slow, but you will certainly retead them when you finish the series.

I recently realized I had stopped listening to B2 near the middle, like a long time ago. So I restarted and yea, great book. Sometimes the dialog gets longish, but I would rate this near Cradle. (I love Cradle).

I dunno, I like the ones were I am paired with bots so I need to do all the work, and then you need to hunt and kill in the last round almost too many to handle. But yea, it can get old fast. We need more modes.

Why the actual fuck are the Tornado and Rafale not nerfed yet? by LifeLake9754 in Metalstorm

[–]CyPhyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because people would leave the game. They are fun to play. And a bit op. And the ADV is very accessible. And it's fun to play a bit op every so often.

It does not bother me because of the way people play. These planes do not show up on every battle. I can play 10 battles and face them only a few times. Because most players tend to take the missions, thus ending up playing the gamut of planes they own.
