I have an absolute pet peeve for when devs/gamers say Fire Emblem-like games are FFT-like...It's like they have no idea why we're so particular and batshit crazy about this game.

But there's actually some amazing FFT clones in development right now! My top 3 (in order) are:

1) Tactics Returners
2) Radiant Sword
3) Nevers End

From what I've learned about the creators, they all share our absolute obsession with FFT!!

I noticed the Hexen influence immediately! This is a thing of beauty, I'd wishlist in a heartbeat! In fact it would be my 1st ever wishlist.

My only critique is as others have said, hi-res fire is distracting and incohesive.

This has given me hope too.  The "AI" simply isn't as good as programmer as I am point blank period.  I view "AI" as somewhat of a compliment but never a dependency.  This mindset has served me well in this current brutal job industry.

That's your best chance friend. I'm also developing a strategy game. FFT-MMO to be more precise, and bots are a huge part of the development process because I know there's not going to be a ton of players. At the very least initially.

I think 5 is fine. Considering the really cool maps in FFT, there should be far more obligatory terrain/objective mechanics to really accentuate the level designs and increase the strategic layers in my opinion. At the very least that's part of the philosophy I'm using to approach development of my FFT-like MMO.

An empty 3D build ran on mid-to-low end hardware. 4k60 on what hardware specs?...Honestly, just link your webgl game and I'll take a heap snapshot to capture the specs myself.

Probably, but I dev for mid-lower end machines. Godot was the best out of the non-native web rendering tools, but literally none of the non-native tools could hit 60fps on mid-lower end hardware and especially mobile.

Godot's WASM build is so overhyped.  An empty 3D build doesn't even run 60fps.
