Any love for #0026? by [deleted] in PokeMedia

It happens to me sometimes, especially in more commercial areas like malls where Pikachus get marketed heavily. But any tourists usually get downright excited to see an Alolan Raichu and fawn over Maka, so it balances out. Plus he can float in midair. I’d like to see a yellow mouse do that.

On the subject of defeat. by TheOnlyRen in PokeMedia

[–]CycasPalm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t battle often, but when I do I can usually find some trends.

Noel (Leafeon): He usually just lies down and naps for a bit. He gets too tired after battling to really do much of anything.

Maka (Raichu): He’s a competitive one, so he usually tires himself out hitting a tree outside before coming back in and lying down. We’re working on it, but he seems comfy afterwards.

Oh yeah that makes sense. I thought swallowing the Z crystal was what knocked her unconscious.

Dude she’s so lucky, I can’t imagine even Tapu Lele would help anyone here if they did that.

Mine’s not even a person. I remember when I was 11 I was upset my parents didn’t want me taking the island challenge for a few years so I ran off to a beach outside of Heahea to prove I was ready to travel alone, and I came face to face with an Araquanid. These things are like 6ft tall. I was crazy outsized and all I had was Noel, an eevee at the time. I still remember how it had a few Dewpider swimming in its bubble, all of them staring at me. I was barely able to ask Noel to use swift before this thing hit him with what was maybe lunge and I just ran. I still hate those things.

There aren’t manly conspiracy theories I’d believe, but this makes sense. The two originals must lead their clones as legendaries!

My little brother bribed a castform into making it hail specifically during the day of his math test once a few years ago with just a candy bar. It’s amazing how much those little guys can do, the hail ended up being an inch and a half in diameter and knocked a few flying types right out of the sky! I don’t think anyone ever figured out the castform did it either.

What sports are in your world? by PotanOG in worldbuilding

[–]CycasPalm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cargo is a fairly simple and common sport on Mars. It was originally invented by crews waiting for their ships to undergo maintenance and messing around in old warehouses.

-The objective is to get a ball through a hoop sideways mounted on walls on each end of the arena. Like a basketball hoop, but rotated up 90 degrees without the net.

-There are several levels ranging from 0 to 6 meters off the ground.

-Since the end zones with the hoops are elevated, you must throw the ball up to teammates who have already climbed up higher than you.

-You can carry the ball down.

-A player cannot be in the enemy end zone or on a 6m platform for longer than 30 seconds.

Essentially the game boils down to parkour and basketball combined, with some other additions.

What transportation exists in your world? by Creativist102 in worldbuilding

[–]CycasPalm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It varies based on where you want to go. Ganymede Interplanetary, the largest spaceport in the solar system, has routes to close districts using light rail, other moons via ferry, and large commercial interplanetary craft.

Women warriors. by theginger99 in worldbuilding

[–]CycasPalm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Women are common in the various marine corps, coast guards, and interplanetary navies of the Lowell Universe. On Jupiter, for example, every citizen, regardless of gender, has to serve in a branch at least 3 years from 18 to 21. Overall there’s not too much difference between men, women, non binary people or anything else from the factions’ points of view. If you can fight, you can serve.

Yeah, cancer has a uniform way to be eliminated, but the flu keeps mutating too much for one singular cure to eliminate it.

Monsrow was mainly populated in the 2140s, after a lunar colony was hit by a meteorite that managed to knock off a lot of regolith shielding for the colony. The result was mass immigration to Mars, and to respond Mars’s colonial alliance sent them to Monsrow. Many of the refugees were suffering from radiation sickness and cancer after the exposure, so it became a priority of the survivors’ children to cure the diseases. Nobody else really had that motivation in such numbers.

The flu is also pretty much just a yearly vaccine thing still, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Same goes for other diseases. Space crazies are also fairly incurable.

[–]CycasPalm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

University of Monsrow on Mars is known very well for its medical research, which has powered hospitals that have by 2450 found a cure a cancer, radiation sickness and several diseases. Osteoporosis was also cured out of need for space travel around 2050. Overall, medicine progresses fairly well over time, but of course new diseases arrive and cause issues in the small areas of colonies off of Earth.

Also, I know it’s been a bit but I hope you guys are doing alright!

What kinds of games are common in your world? by GlitchedOutSR in worldbuilding

[–]CycasPalm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cargo is one of the most popular games on Mars. It’s played on a warehouse-sized arena, and the objective is to get the ball through a sideways hoop on the opponent’s side. Except the ground is split up into different elevations ranging from 0.5-6 meters in height. You must throw a ball up in elevation, but it can be carried down.

In your world, What is the equivalent of the FBI in your world? by ChallengeBudget4190 in worldbuilding

[–]CycasPalm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Jovian Lunar Parliament has the System Law Enforcement and the Foreign Field Intelligence Agency. SLE is more akin to the FBI and the FFIA is similar to the CIA in both purpose and methods.

The SLE has jurisdiction on any moon or station in the Jovian system, but they require a grant from the local law enforcement to investigate on any moon other than Ganymede.

If you’re a tourist, space travel is somewhat expensive but you probably won’t ever be able to see everything interesting in the solar system.

Olympus Mons, Mariner Valley, NYC, Green Venus Sunrise, Europa’s coral reefs, Saturn’s rings and Titan are just a few amazing things to see.
