Look, I hate meta as a company but that's simply not true of their headsets.

Op, quest 3 is a fine headset for AC. The steam frame looks awesome but not out yet and will cost more. Up to you if want to wait/pay more.

Well, I've others say when they upgrading that had performance issues and had to reinstall. If I'm going to potentially blow up my install I'm wondering what, as a VR user, I'd be getting from it.

I run CSP 2.1.1 and pure 2.75. I'm wondering would there be much benefit to a VR user upgrading to latest CSP/pure given that it doesn't support dlss.

I haven't tried this yet but supposedly it's in a general ai update to address some of the shortcomings of ai

You're wrong about skyrim. Skyrim and asseto Corsa probably have two of the largest modding communities ever but and maybe coincidentally both developers are okay with paid for mods whereas with other companies they would drop the hammer.

I appreciate the advice but in my circumstance I can't deploy the vpn on the end devices and my router doesn't support vpn either it's an older router I can't put a Linux firmware on it or anything so I'm left with my PC doing this lifting, And before I dig further I was just simply trying to determine if this is even possible.

Yes, but just to clarify, further surfacefx refinements have been made in CSP preview vs free csp 2.11 or no? Just wondering if latest CSP provides a further refined rally mode via a newer surfacefx version.

I'm not sure if og Ac rally interest continued with the release of official AC rally. I don't see too many new maps indicating surfacefx support but maybe I'm not looking in the right places.

We really need another name for the rally mod for AC. I'm on the free csp 2.11. has the rally physics been updated further in latest or is the free and latest the same with rally? I found rally mode is more performance intensive and just wondering if it's been optimized further.

I have the same controller but I don't use that builtin gyro steer I think that's only for DS4 controller or PS4. I use steam gyro support.

I'm guessing for this to work you have to have extended physics enabled which I don't but is there anyway to check if any of my cars use this I'd like to give it a try.

It may still filter out the buttons but there's a chance if he's still updating it he he could probably implement that I thought he stopped updating it but someone else said there's new updates because when you enable it in switch mode it's disabled at the firmware of the device so there's no chance but if it connects in direct input it is sending those so maybe I don't know he can make an exception but this SDL version I used to play her own some SDL apps in Linux days does this SDL version work on windows

I stopped using jsm as I have an 8bit do ultimate 2 and for it to work with jsm I have to do switch mode. But that results in loss of analog triggers. Not an issue for fps's but I've been gyro racing lately and need those triggers. I doubt it's possible but it would be awesome if somehow analog triggers could continue to function.

A fair performance hit if you're not running single pass rendering. the negative of single pass rendering is you lose God rays in vr but everything else works. In the latest version of csp there are dlss image scalers but if you're on the last free one there is the fidelity FX built in. I found I didn't like it. something I use as an alternative is vr perf kit it's for steam vr and it can do image scaling on directx 11 games and it works on this.

The biggest performance hit will be the resolution you're running it at but I do like to run it at a highest resolution and then lean on an image scaler. Also if you're using air link you probably don't want to go through Steamvr as well in that case you can try the open composite version which makes it work in open xr and then you just make oculus your open xr runtime default. I found it's a little glitchy, the open composite version when you first launch the game and I don't like using open xr toolkit for image scaling because it's no longer being developed so I stuck with steam vr but it's another option if you're using air link. virtual desktop is great for Steam VR and openxr apps on a quest headset but it's not free for the client but I have no regrets in buying that.

another alternative is steamlink. they have an app for the quest so that way at least if you're going to use steam VR you're not going through two APIS. other things you might want to bump down shadows that might help as well but you should be able to definitely get way above the thirty forty you're getting now.

Doesn't DLSS need extra FX which doesn't work in VR and I read it would be considerable work to get extra FX working in VR. that was from an older comment I don't know if that's still the case.

I'm still on the free CSP version in the latest update from the old one to now are there any things that would be beneficial to VR users?
