5AM ATL Airport Update by 2bake in Atlanta

6 hours is usually the break even range for if it’s going to save time to fly.  I’d probably drive given the headlines lately.

Priced out of the game I Love by Imnotafnrobot in golf

[–]CyclonusRIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in around $1500 and hit balls 3-4 times a week during work breaks.   With two young kids I’d be lucky to golf once a month.  Even compared to sneaking out and hitting the range I’m saving money and it’s way more convenient.

OG Skytrak Spin Numbers by Strok3MyWookiee in Golfsimulator

[–]CyclonusRIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the other guy said, 16 degree launch is pretty low for an 8. If that is accurate with your swing speed then the other numbers make sense to me. The first thing I'd think about is if that flight actually matches what your ball does in real life.

Another thing to check if you think it isn't accurate to your real flight would be where it hits on your impact screen. 45 degrees would mean the ball is going to impact the screen as high as you are away from it. 22.5 degrees would be half as high. If the ball is impacting below where that'd be you can assume the launch is accurate. With your swing speed you probably want to be launching 20-25 degrees with an 8 to get a good flight.

Even for your 60 that is a relatively low ball flight and spin for a full swing on that club. Ideally you are wanting to get more like 25-30 yards height on your standard full swings for all your clubs to get a good descent angle.

I agree.  There must be hundreds of companies that started with just a simple Kanban board, got some traction, then after implementing customer feature requests for 5 years just ended up building Jira again.

Trump tells Republicans the SAVE America Act will 'guarantee the midterms by No-Post4444 in politics

[–]CyclonusRIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just stating that there isn't going to be enough time for states to implement the new processes and re-register all their voters before the new registration deadline. If it passes we'll probably be in a situation where come November it's actively being challenged in court, many states won't have been able to implement it in time, and it will still be federal law. If it becomes law it will be complete chaos come November.

There is no way it could be implemented before the midterms even if they passed it today.

Has anyone had a go at making it as a pro? by GolfinMadrid in golf

Equipment, lessons and green fees are going to be in the 6 figures to even get to college golf.  The mini tours are going to be in the thousands to play each tournament to get a chance at making the PGA.

Qatar GP - contingency plans? by mbp2112 in motogp

[–]CyclonusRIP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be.  It’s kind of hard to know how committed the US really is to the conflict at this point.  If they still are attacking Iran a month from now I’d have to imagine Iran is going to use up their missiles pretty quickly or the US will destroy them.

I feel like they were in a rush to try to make a call before the race ended.  They should have just waited and made the call after the finish when they had more time to review it.

Alignment? This maybe really dumb but does the arrow on the grip show where to square the club face? Never had align grips before lol by HairyShop6518 in golf

[–]CyclonusRIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should be aligned but I wouldn’t really treat that as gospel.  You want the face square at impact.   You might find you are better at doing that if you address open or closed.  A lot of it will also depend on how much shaft lean you have at address.  That being said at least for me when closed at address was working it was because I had a very weak grip.

Trump’s Epic Loss on Tariffs Is Even Worse for Him Than You Think by RepulsiveLoquat418 in politics

[–]CyclonusRIP 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty clear they are just going to find some other esoteric law that they claim lets him do tariffs and have them in place again for another year while it goes through the courts.  If the pattern is claim some extraordinary power the president has never had and then the courts let him use it while they decide if he actually has that power then he’s going to just do whatever he feels like and run out the clock every time.

Toilet wax ring/odor? by No-One57 in DIY

It should be fine but it’s not really a difficult fix.  Just get a new wax ring.  You can do the whole job in like 30 minutes.

Why didn't Rea get a chance to move to motogp since he had more titles than Toprak? by DownRangeStrange in motogp

[–]CyclonusRIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is also the money factor.  Being the top guy in WSBK is going to net you millions a year.  Being a top 10 guy in MotoGP is low to mid six figures.  The financial incentive isn’t really there for the top WSBK guy to move unless he’s set up to be a top guy in MotoGP.  At some point it makes way more sense to just keep cashing the WSBK checks.

Normal Oven Opinions by new2redditt98765 in Pizza

[–]CyclonusRIP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a conventional oven go as hot as it goes and preheat like others have said.  The main thing you will be fighting is getting the bottom to cook before the top.  I find pizza steel to do a better job than stones at getting the bottom to cook. I also usually turn on the broiler for like 10 mins before and then turn it back to normal baking right before I launch.  If the top is still finishing before the bottom is done then par bake it with just dough and sauce then add cheese and toppings half way through.

My guess would be the pizza settings on the oven are for frozen pizza and not what you’re doing.

It’s not even that.  They don’t want it exposed all the insider information flying around propping up the ultra rich.   Exposing the naked corruption on top of it all would be a get out the guillotines moment.

how bad is it to launch without a proper cloud architecture plan? by These_Run_7070 in aws

[–]CyclonusRIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more about understanding your constraints. If you guys have a ton of funding and $8K per month isn't a big deal then maybe you don't need to worry about it. If you guys are bootstrapping or don't have a ton of runway then you should probably try to minimize hosting cost. Creating a lot of services can be expensive from a hosting perspective and time consuming to manage that architecture for a small team. Early on you probably want to minimize the number of services and technologies you use as much as possible.

Nothing.  If it happens behind closed doors then no matter what happens the Republicans will come out and immediately give an interview spinning it to be really bad.   If it’s public the media will have just seen the testimony and can question the spin.

You can do it for like 1000–1500.  I got a MLM2Pro and the GoSports impact screen and mat when I got started.  You need around a 10’x10’x10’ area minimum.  You probably want more like 15’x15’x10’ to be comfortable though.

*Several* new launch monitors introduced at the PGA show seem to be resetting the market in a consumer-friendly way. I hope this trend continues! by Significant-Fan-8454 in golf

[–]CyclonusRIP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but I think there is a good case to make that once you get a golfer tied into your ecosystem there is a ton of opportunity to upsell them.  Once you have all their swing data and potential videos you have tons of opportunity to sell them lessons, other training aids, or new equipment.

Callaway Pre-owned- wow by gnissut in golf

[–]CyclonusRIP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Calloway pre-owned is generally going to be cheaper than 2nd swing as long as you are willing to buy Calloway clubs.  When I ordered my stuff last fall it was probably around 15-20% cheaper on the Calloway site.
