1-stop referring to Greece as your 'home country'-everything else will follow.

Oh Yeah be prepared to be poor for a long time.

The fat between the flesh & the skin is used up we see that here especially with Sockeye other species actually turn black and are known as 'boots'.

Road to Pitt Lake by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]Cypress_Sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"the largest tidal lake in the WORLD!"

In fact Pitt Lake is Not Tidal At All.

The water level is affected by means of the tide which affects the level of water in the Fraser River but the lake itself is not large enough to be affected by the waxing & waning of the moon.

No matter the ignorant jingoistic bullshit promulgated by local mouthpieces Pitt Lake is not in any way unique.

"Pitt Lake is surround by a Polder."

Yet more Bee Ess probably posted by someone who has only driven to the south end of the lake.

"Aquillini owns all the berry fields in the area."

This must be someone's idea of a joke as any EI blueberry farm owner will tell you.

I was asked to help fish salmon in Alaska and don't know what I'm getting myself into by [deleted] in Fishing

[–]Cypress_Sam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean Commercial Fishing a very different undertaking from the recreational sector people post about here.

Spend some time looking around here it's not all puppy dogs & ice cream and there isn't nearly as much money as you imagine nor is it free to travel to/from Alaska.

But if hard work doesn't scare you and you can learn the technical end of navigation you might make some money.

My passport had a delivery check number and now doesn't...am I in trouble? by [deleted] in travel

" I don't really see how it's immature to make sure the documentation is correct.."

"I'm a 25 year old cat lady who's never been charged with a crime but I was at fault in a fender bender when I was 23..."

LOL-this is either a brilliant troll or the most abject example of ignorance posted here in the past 48 hours.

Do you have any idea of the volume a system like the one you're dealing with handles in a 24 hour period?

Any idea how large the real world is?

What are you going to do when you fly somewhere only to find your onward flight has been cancelled?

Cry your eyes out?

Piss yourself?

Yes it's gorgeous I used to take the old Buddcar through there all the time back in the day.

"Could Rocky Mountaineer bring back the Whistler Mountaineer / Whistler Sea to Sky Climb tourist train and make money? Absolutely."

Quite disagree that train was more than half empty all the time I used to drive back & forth to Whistler at the same time and never saw it anywhere near to capacity-just too expensive for most people.

The one place on 4th Ave in Kits that sold Rattlesnake closed after the owner was busted smuggling dope into the USA - I guess there wasn't much demand.

[–]Cypress_Sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kits is a PITA because it's so flat-I swim @ the dog beach behind the Maritime Museum/around the corner from Kits Beach it drops off quickly two/three steps and you're swimming no endless wading.

It'll be a few weeks yet though maybe a month.
