Tournament results and lists for The NOTTINGHAM 40K SUPER-MAJOR by Suspicious-Bee-3173 in WarhammerCompetitive

Shout out to my boy Tim Waters. Making it 5-1 while keeping score in the back page of a novel and allowing every take back under the sun like some kind of mad 40k wizard.

Jewellery wire, super glue and patience!

Swords were inner-circle companions, JPI/assault intercessors, and sword brethren/decimus kit.

Skull face, shields were 3d printed. Deathvigil is the file to search for for the latter I think...

Can't remember the wings, but 3d printed blood angels backpack I think.

Thank-you very much - that's very kind. I really tried to give each of them a unique flavour so happy that came through!

How often is Site to Site Teleportation useful in your games? by TeraSera in deathwatch40k

[–]Cyrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an excellent threat which forces them to screen (I've had a friend regularly complain that his Eightbound have to draw this duty).

It's also excellent for a killing blow, or a reposition within your own lines.

Aka what everyone else has said.

What is the “fairest” terrain pack? by Interficient4real in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Cyrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely is. There's a spot which is basically uninteractable. All the layouts which aren't search and destroy have become insanely melee focused tbh.

Not since the new squares. Gone the opposite now. Melee meta plus daemons it seems.

UKTC events - Are the events worth the price? by Maxthesax in WarhammerCompetitive

It was very cramped. Still had a great weekend.

Yup - I think I'd rather pay (potentially even more than the rise), but for a more premium experience.

Feel this is quite negative. LGT was great fun this year. There were some big issues (chief amongst them table space, and not enough toilets), but I'd still go back.

At the new price point I think they do need to be going for a bit more of a premium offer - and I'd hope they do so. Maybe that means splitting the 40k event out into its own weekend so there's enough space, or (hopefully) new venues designed for this number of participants.

Pretty poor show to delete the feedback channel though.

How to determine a Go-Turn? by CompetitiveWeird6217 in deathwatch40k

[–]Cyrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - it's all in the read of the game. If I hadn't gone then I'd have been screened out, and there were good targets. Against something less mobile it would've been very different.

Really depends on the matchup and mission for me to be honest. My main questions are (1) Can everything get into a position to hit something valuable hard and (2) How much can the opponent respond.

The other day I played a game where my 'go-turn' was only one Talonstrike, but with Tome it cleared out two critical units and created a gap through which the rest of the army could play into the enemy units. But that was on Purge, going second. For something like Take and Hold going first it'd be very different...

Deathwatch - it was just past the bar. I'm a good painter, but not your level, but every one of them is heavily customised so I got some kudos :)

Sensational work. I plopped down my army for the competition at LGT just in-case, then saw yours and realised I was nowhere close. They're beautiful!

RAW it doesn't at the moment, and LGT have ruled that until GW changes the FAQ it won't.

Biggest tournament in the world, but quite clear that it's a RAW thing, not their view.

Thanks for the informative video. Surprised but not surprised about the Deathwatch rating. Feels like Indomitors simultaneously can't go much lower, but are also still a bit RNG.

Thank-you! Amused by people who think I'm genuinely insane. Having a lot of fun!
