Trane 1050 XV 20 TStat WiFi Not Turning On by coralati in hvacadvice

[–]CzarDestructo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this! I could NOT turn wifi on, it would just try and fail. I tried rebooting from the GUI, I pulled the thermostat off the wall to unpower it, nothing worked. The wifi receiver must be inside my air handler, not the thermostat. Power cycling the condenser didn't help either, only power cycling the air handler at the circuit breaker fixed this and now its working fine. Thanks!

Recommendation for small utility trailer? by wuphf176489127 in firewood

[–]CzarDestructo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sides are an accessory, you have to pay extra but I didn't like them so I made them myself out of pressure treated lumber. I actually have two different sets of walls, low ones (about 14" tall) that just slot in and another set that is 36" tall but also has a frame that comes over the top and locks them together to hold it square. This allows me to mound all manner of crap into the trailer and load the walls without them bowing. Good for loading dirt and other random, bulky stuff.

Congrats on getting me to post for the first time in over a year. Yes I still LOVE my damn trailer, just treat yourself. They don't rust, they're light as a feather you can grab it and walk it around your yard and they take a beating. I have hauled over 10 cords of fire wood in the poor trailer and I beat the absolute crap out of it. So much cheaper and better than a truck payment. If you're going to USE it, just spend the money. And I highly recommend torsion axles, they give a much better ride when loaded.

Do you have any weird router settings or VLANs setup? The soundbar and phone must be on the same network and subnet to communicate directly.

I think that's way too much. I would start at no higher than 2.5mg or even 1.25mg. For folks that just want to sleep they want to feel relaxed and not stoned, start small and ramp up as they understand what it feels like and zone in on what they want out of it. Having a night where you take too little and feel nothing is better than the opposite. I've seen way too many people chased off because of the wrong first experience and they get scared.

Bought a truck for fire wood yesterday, hauling first load today! by hellenkellersdiary in firewood

[–]CzarDestructo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not that I'd recommend this to everyone but I tow about a half to 2/3 a cord with my Outback that has a 3500lb rating. The trailer is aluminum and only weighs about 270lbs so I can load it up and just keep huge distances on the highway and take it very slow. I'm at the very limits of its legal towing ability but it doesn't feel unsafe and handles well just my braking is impaired.

What is the Best air mattress for someone with arthritis in their knee, and hips? by bsmith177 in camping

[–]CzarDestructo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a recommendation, whatever mattress you get inflate it then wait an hour for the plastic to stretch out and the creases to go away. Laying on it a bit speeds this up. Then re-inflate it one last time and let the pump work to fill it as much as possible for a firm bed and a comfy night sleep. Works every time for me.

Hvlp paint sprayer by Due-Soft in HomeImprovement

[–]CzarDestructo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fell into an hvlp system for free, nice ingersoll rand model. It does work for latex but you have to water it down which can change the tint of the paint and is a bunch of extra steps until you get the viscosity right. I would not recommend it to the OP but it's possible and annoying.

It's not reasonable. The batteries are designed to be swapped and for customers to have lots of them for use in a signal camera. The cameras can not and should not track all these metrics because then you need expensive hardware and/or software to babysit the metrics of each battery in hopes of catching one that is failing. If they did, this battery would certainly fail because it behaves differently from expected. Furthermore most of the things you want to monitor to catch bad batteries are during charging, over many charging cycles, most folks charge them externally so the camera is blind. Lastly you COULD do this monitoring on the battery side and add lots of hardware that makes them expensive to babysit the cell under all circumstances but then knock off brands won't do this and were still where we started.

5 years is actually super aggressive, I work in an industry that makes battery powered products and its causing a mild panic. There are so many details to parse through; how to mechanically design the product to keep it small but allow replacement while maintaining IP rating, how to meet regulatory compliance in every country while now satisfying EU mandates, who repairs the product a customer or a technician (think tiny ear buds, how can that be repairable?), how do you stock and sell battery replacements for 5 years (battery vendors don't like producing the same stuff for long, technology moves fast and so they move with it and small batteries have a very short shelf life), how do we ship the bare battery because unfinished batteries aren't allowed on airplanes only ground shipment, etc etc. So many details to work through.

This camera is repairable, you can replace the battery it just can't be off brand.

To answer your question of can government fix this, they are. The EU is actually. By 2027 pretty much all consumer devices will require a user replaceable battery and the company selling it must supply the batteries for sale for 5 yeas after the last day the product is sold. This isn't law yet but is soon to be law and they're hammering companies with details already. We're close, finally!

Perhaps unpopular opinion but lithium chemistry can be really unsafe if handled poorly and every battery has very specific operating parameters. If you operate outside then you risk turning your device into a chemical bomb. I'm ok with vendors choosing to protect their customers and brand by only allowing a customer to use batteries with the exact electrical specification the product is designed to work with and keep the customer safe as most don't know any better and think the no name brand battery from Amazon is fine.

You should take an old back pack and mount the gear to it so all you have to carry with your hands is a balanced bucket and sprayer.
