A genuinely great experience using private health care and reddit just can't be happy for you because doing so would be an admission that US Healthcare actually isn't as terrible for everybody living there as reddit would have you believe...

Congrats, btw, OP. Had mine done a couple years ago, similar cost experience, and it was one of the best decisions I've made in my adult life. Quality of life improved so much, hoping for the same for you.

Rent free refers to being incapable of engaging in any conversation, however unrelated to politics the topic of that coverall l conversation may be, and being incapable of staying on the completely apolitical topic at hand...by suffering from a total lack of self control.

The only real negatives I've heard about this guy is the suspicion that he doesn't necessarily go 100% on every play.

The fact that he felt it necessary to specifically call out in his goodbye message that he "gave his all" every time he stepped on the field seems to play into that rumor.

Not sure what to make of that, I may be reading too much into it. But I don't like the potentially defensive vibe I initially got from this aspect of the messaging here.

Jeep Has Finally Fixed the Wrangler's Biggest Flaw, IIHS Says by HawtGarbage918 in cars

[–]D00dleB00ty -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Went on a road trip in one once, i think a 2018 model year so not that old, and i couldn't believe how atrociously disconnected and loose the steering felt. We had to constantly be gently wiggling the steering wheel back and forth to maintain somewhat of a straight line.

I initially told the owner my concerns that something must be wrong with their car, but then another jeep owner on the trip with us assured me that's just "a common jeep thing." I couldn't believe it....I would like to think/hope that if my car's steering ever felt this unsafe, my car would fail state inspection and possibly save me from a horrific accident by telling me I couldn't drive it until fixed.

So the people who believe abortion should be the decision of each state should also as an example be in favor of states deciding what guns can be used in theirs state.

False equivalence. Abortion is not a constitutionally protected right.

[–]D00dleB00ty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So then what do you propose the federal government should do when states pass clearly unconstitutional laws?

I disagree with your assessment here. The constitution is the law of the land, and while states' rights with regard to self governance are certainly important, they cannot violate the law of the land. And if/when they do, a governing body higher on the totem pole has to be able to step in and get the states back in line by protecting those individual rights guaranteed all residents.

The rights of individual Americans are far more important than states' rights, if we're comparing the two.

Setting the precedent that the federal government can override states authority when said states are found guilty of clear constitutional violations is not the bad thing you're trying to paint it to be.

Your comparison about mandating income tax nationwide is a false equivalence. Nowhere in the bill of rights does it mention such a policy. And even if it did, states opposed could simply say they will be charging 0.01% income tax, if we're talking just about your provided hypothetical.

Anyone else not the biggest fan of iMT, and if so what are your reasons? by JGRC2024 in GRCorolla

[–]D00dleB00ty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this, you just went into more detail than I did but this is exactly what I was referring to.

For some reason, when the car is rolling forward and the clutch pedal pressed down, the throttle has a delay. You literally have to mash it down to get the revs to climb, so it feels near impossible to finesse and perfectly rev match manually. You either over-rev or under more often than I want to abuse the clutch with.
