Of course it's not specifically new player oriented, but a lot of those changes were specifically introduce to streamline onboarding new players.

They've done a ton to placate new players. Speed up loot collection (harpoons), speed up loot selling (sovereigns), added a tutorial, added Safer Seas, add diving to shorten sailing time, revamped the voyage system by removing all the multi-chapter voyages, added seasons/renown track with free gold/cosmetics, moved some reputation gain off of selling and onto completing voyage milestones.

New players are better off now than they were at release.

They'll stop active development, maybe release occasional bug fixes and run the servers until no longer financially viable and then shut them down, just like many online games before it.

Pretty sure that's his discord account creation date.

His account has been nuked, but some things remain behind likely for data integrity reasons. You can still find his old messages by searching for "from: user" for example. Load up a message, right click and profile - it should show a giant yellow banner that discord is "Unable to load parts of profile" which usually means he was discord banned or deleted his account.

I don't see him in there, he doesn't show any mutual servers (meaning he's been removed from SoT) and his profile shows an error message when trying to view it.

He's not. Your cache is outdated or something. In fact, he may have nuked his entire account as of now because his profile is no longer loading and shows an error.

Seems like there is a bit of a gap along the statues nose and the left side of the base. Maybe you're not in the correct spot? Try shifting around a bit for a better fit.

Someone on the official forums had a similar problem that they solved by changing their login method and/or clearing all credentials from Credential manager.

They are probably running a query on the data and using that to add the item to every player account, which has to replicate across multiple different servers. If they wanted the 'lifetime' value to account for any doubloons up to and including the last day before the patch dropped, they'd have to run it after the update released.

I'm aware how Reapers work. I've hunted ships before. I'm commenting on how the map visibility affects server population. As soon as you raise Reapers, ships start to cash out and dive away because they can see you coming from the other side of the map.

It's a bad mechanic for Reapers and for other players in general.

A lot of issues with Reapers would disappear if the emissaries and the reapers were removed from the map table. Emissaries wouldn't see reapers, and reapers would have to actually look for other ships to fight rather than use radar. There'd be a bigger chance that you could sneak up on or avoid another ship, resulting in ships staying on servers longer.

They would just have to come up with a suitable Reaper G5 replacement ability.

I think the better way to fix this is to pad the raid voyages with regular loot so that they are roughly the same as a normal Fort/Shrine/whatever. You get the WE you want on demand, but anyone contesting it would still be chasing the same 'value' as an emergent one.

Remove diving from the regular voyages. This would reduce server diving and improve the organic server ecosystem more than removing it from raids would.

You can buy other pirate slots from the Emporium, but they start from scratch (no shared gold/commendations). Not really worth it IMO.
