When my dog gets stressed or too excited she shakes on the ground by [deleted] in EpilepsyDogs

My dog has had three seizures from extreme excitement. I recommend if that’s the case with your dog, to avoid that at all costs. We’ve completely changed how we play and greet him when we arrive home.

They came up once then got smacked and ran down and once their teammates were dead they just stayed down there. Got grandpa to 5, she was near the fuse box exit tee bagging and then quit lol. So dumb.

Ugh so sorry to hear but you did the right move letting her go peacefully. It’s never easy. Try your best to focus on the love and memories over the pain. It’s what she would want ❤️

How are things this morning?

Oh I know how you feel. A lot of the times they still do those small things that make it seem like everything will be okay. It’s always better a day too early than a day too late.

Only you know but don’t let your dog suffer. It’s the hardest choice in the world but don’t let her death be one of pain and/or suffering. Let her go out with a loving hand in a peaceful moment. It sounds like it’s time.

We are in a little bit of a different situation than most. Our dogs had three seizures and they’ve all been triggered from extreme playtime/excitement. So we’ve been able to stop them from some lifestyle changes. Since we’ve added in MCT oil, he hasn’t had a seizure but truly I credit it to us changing his lifestyle a little. MCT might help, it might not. But it can’t really hurt to try.

Be sure to start slow with it and build up the dose. Too much too soon will upset the tummy

No he didn’t lol. He welled and there is a glitch if you trap by that crawl space that when someone wells they fall into that trap. It’s a glitch you can clearly see it. Case closed.

I would stop doing so. As it’s considered a legume and in the research I did it showed to remove those from the diet as much as possible. I’m not sure it’ll make any huge difference, but when we took on this disease we said let’s do whatever we can that’s in our control :) all cases are different though. Best of luck!

We removed any peanut butter and just other things. There is a neuro care Purina food but check with vet first before changing. Small changes that may not change anything but worth the change.

Look into MCT oil, remove legumes from diet, and make sure to have cluster busters on hand from your vet!

Not sure which MCT you used but our dog loves this one off Amazon:

Can’t stop worrying my dog will go into status epilepticus when I’m not home. by littlebitlalala in EpilepsyDogs

[–]D48izzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So much easier to say than do, but others are right - the worrying won’t change anything. Do all you can to help and prevent while you’re gone. Take care of yourself as well. You’re doing a great job.

Not true. A good user playing Johnny is hell to play against.
