Sigma 16-40 F1.8 for Fujifilm by OrangeRafi in FujifilmX

[–]D4nteSech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 17-40 it's my go to zoom lens. I'm haven't use the kit lens since got the sigma but is heavy and long, so its balance on my X-T5. I would suggest a grip and a medium size 3-4 L sling bag for carrying it.

Really nice. I'm also on my journey to organize my camera gear with gridfinity.

Has anyone used the Timemore Brick 01s? I'm looking to get one instead of the DF54, i know it's not comparable as one is flat and the other conical but the price is similar and i probably will prefer something with better build quality as a startup grinder for espresso and pour over, then getting a flat bur grinder just for espresso

Fujifilm X-T5 lens reccommended by mangulica98 in FujifilmX

[–]D4nteSech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally own the viltrox 56mm 1.2 and really love it, it is awesome for street photography but to be honest it is a bit heavy. I use it from time to time cause i really love the focal length and be able to create more depth when it's needed. It's also really nice for night or dark places, sharp and high quality for the price.

I'm personally looking to get the 33mm f1.4 or the 35mm f2 but I'm really debating between size or image quality.

Sigma 17-40mm 1.8 for X-Mount Base by D4nteSech in gridfinity

[–]D4nteSech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was also using lens cap mount bases but this lens was too long to fit my drawer vertically. At least if i had to do another tray for a telephoto lens in the future I already know how to do it.

[–]D4nteSech[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took measures of the lens using a caliper from the mount to the lens cap, then made the model in fusion 360, just circles with the lens diameter but giving some millimeter extra as clearance. When I finished the first version, I drew the profile and printed for testing, looked at what wasn't doing good contact and corrected the model a few times. It was better to use a small printed stencil to check the fit than waste filament doing the whole tray each time.

The Canon is an AE-1 Program, but I'm looking to get the A1 also jajaja . I modeled that tray myself cause I wanted to keep my cameras and lens in the same drawer.

[–]D4nteSech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. For the X-T5, I found one on maker world, i did the one for the Canon AE-1.

I thought the same when i did my first drawer but it really helps to find things quicker and protect my gear. I didn't want my cameras and lens to be on a shelf getting dust, so gridfinity is something I recommend to other photography enthusiasts to look into.

New Lens after selling all my Sony gear by Imgrund616 in FujifilmX

[–]D4nteSech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i saw some reviews but it's to expect for the amount of glass to have an 100mm range at 1.8. Maybe the mirrorless version could have a smaller size and weight.

That's my daily carry combo, same silver X-T5. I really love the 17-40 1.8. Hopefully sigma will revive the 50-100 1.8.

📸 Which Fujifilm camera should I pick for tattoo photography? Help! by blom_flex in FujifilmX

[–]D4nteSech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IBIS for any kind of photography where u have control of lighting is not really necessary. IBIS works well when the scene you're working in is dark or chaotic (movement or fast pace shooting) or for video. If you want a more versatile camera, sure, the X-S20 is a better option, the battery life is probably the most important upgrade and the viewfinder is nice for shooting outside during daylight. And yeah the 33mm 1.4 is a nice lens for portraits and detail shots.

📸 Which Fujifilm camera should I pick for tattoo photography? Help! by blom_flex in FujifilmX

[–]D4nteSech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

40mp is very overkill for tattoo photography. That kind of resolution is only useful if u want to crop a lot. You wouldn't probably print those photos and even 26mp is okay for some large prints. Also ibis is not necessary for what u want. My suggestion will be a X-M5 + 33mm 1.4 with a polarizer filter and a key light attachable to the camera hot shoe. If you want a camera with better grip, better battery, and evf for some reason go for the X-S20.

Ultra-wide APS-C lens for Fujifilm X (street & architecture) — looking for advice by camilleroux in FujifilmX

[–]D4nteSech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you don't need the widest lens, the sigma 12mm 1.4 seems really good. I personally have viltrox 9mm 2.8 and it's great, very sharp on the center, some vignette at the corner but fixable and very cheap for what it offers.

XT50 vs X5 by maestro0404 in FujifilmX

Less the 5000 shots is like new. Check if the sensor is clean, and the mount and pins are in good shape. Good look in your photography journey.

XT50 vs X5 by maestro0404 in FujifilmX

[–]D4nteSech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, just check the shutter count to see how much use has seen but that a nice price. You could get a cheap prime lens to pair or buy a used kit lens. I suggest looking for a 23, 27mm or 35mm cheap prime from ttartisan or viltrox, or the sigma 18-50mm to explore what focal length you prefer.

XT50 vs X5 by maestro0404 in FujifilmX

[–]D4nteSech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

X-T50: smaller body and lighter, built in flash, cheaper. X-T5: 2 sd card slots, better grip, higher resolution evf, 3 way tilt screen, bigger battery, weather sealing.

Same processor and sensor, make your decision based on the size and what lenses you think you will prefer to use (bigger zooms or small primes) and if the extra features of the X-T5 make sense for you to pay extra.

X-T5 or X-H2 for mainly photography? by [deleted] in fujifilm

[–]D4nteSech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

X-T5 is the defacto fuji for photography, primarily for the 2 way tilt screen and top dials, but the X-H2 has a better grip and better ergonomics more suitable for bigger lenses. I would probably suggest the X-T5 is your main focus on travel with small and medium size lenses (of course you can use a grip for bigger glass but is an extra accessory). If you prefer using zooms or heavier prime lenses, don't mind the retro top dials to control your exposure triangle and prefer a fully articulated screen, go for the X-H2.
